OKC Term Limits Now Announces Training Event

Due to a large amount of interest, OKC Term Limits Now will be holding a

Bill Bonner: Is Bad News Good News for US Stocks?

“Everyone knows that even a little cutback in the Fed’s buyback program should mean falling stock and bond prices. A trillion dollars a year is a lot of money – in fact, it’s 7% of GDP. Imagine a corporation with annual revenue of $100 billion. Imagine that it buys back its own shares at the rate of $7 billion a year. Then try to imagine what would happen to the share price when the largest single buyer drops out. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. Even Fed economists can see it. That’s why they won’t taper. And everybody knows it. That’s why bad news is now good news. And good news is good news. Everything Is Good News!” Continue reading

This event is an opportunity to learn about the initiative petition process in Oklahoma City. OKC Term Limits Now is promoting a ballot initiative that will limit the Mayor to two 4 year terms, and each City Councilperson to the same. These would be consecutive terms – so someone could sit out a term and run again later. The number of signatures required to put this – or anything – on the ballot to change the city charter is about 6000.

Please consider attending this event, and if you support term limits, please think about getting on board. There is only a three month time frame for this, and the clock has started ticking. This is an excellent chance to learn the process, and support a cause that many of us believe in.

Who knows what issue we will choose in the near future to advance on our own?
