80-year-old with artificial knees dragged off ATV, slammed to the ground by police chief

"An 80-year-old man spent three days in the hospital after he was dragged off his ATV and slammed to the concrete by a Cedar Grove police officer, witnesses say. Cole said he thinks that McComb's difficulty hearing might have led to Walls pulling him off the ATV because McComb might not have responded to the officer. McComb was taken to the police station, then released to his friends. Walls told him he would get a summons in the mail stating the charges against him. McComb was taken to the hospital by ambulance with his daughter, Karen McComb, at his side." Continue reading

Oakland Cops’ Violent Past to Be Kept from Jury

"Oakland residents have filed scores of misconduct complaints against the two police officers who shot and killed Derrick Jones, a 37-year-old barber, in 2011. The two cops, Omar Daza-Quiroz and Eriberto Perez-Angeles, had previously been involved in the killing of another man. In addition, records show that there have been 74 use-of-force complaints lodged against Daza-Quiroz alone. Nonetheless, a federal judge ruled last weekend that jurors in a civil trial involving the Jones shooting must not learn about the officers' troubled histories or know of the department's failure to correct their behavior." Man’s Home Raided After Son’s Facebook Picture Shows Gun

"After seeing a photo of an 11-year-old boy holding a rifle on Facebook (photo shown cropped at right), New Jersey police and Department of Children and Families officials raided the home of the boy’s father, Shawn Moore, a firearms instructor. Moore was not arrested or charged, but immediately sought the counsel of his lawyer. Moore is a certified firearms instructor for the National Rifle Association, an NRA range safety officer, and a New Jersey hunter education instructor. He posted a photograph of his son wearing camouflage and holding his .22 rifle. The boy has a New Jersey hunting license and has passed the state’s hunter safety course." Continue reading

LAPD Brutality Continues: 54 People Shot & Killed In 2011

"In the aftermath of the Christopher Dorner manhunt, the LAPD exposed some of the ugly skeletons it has been trying to hide in its closet. While Los Angeles police claim to have left their historically, corrupt and brutish police tactics behind, the shooting of innocent civilians during the search for Dorner, has shown that the department has changed very little." Child-Snatchers and Gun-Grabbers Unite

"The investigators were demanding access to the family’s gun safe to see if all of their firearms were registered. At one point the child 'safety' bureaucrats threatened to seize Moore’s children. He demanded to see a search warrant, and when none was produced, he ordered the investigators to leave. The visit apparently followed an anonymous tip prompted by a Facebook photo of Moore’s 11-year-old son Josh, who is holding a .22-caliber rifle he had received as a birthday present. The rifle’s cosmetic features make it resemble one of those dreaded 'assault weapons' that cause Diane Feinstein to twist her Gorgon features into a grimace of pious disapproval." Continue reading

Chicago PD: Let’s Turn ‘Em Loose on Congress

"Chicago's uniformed thugs responded to a robbery by shooting the store's owner 11 times (they also shot the thieves, whom the owner had already disarmed, without warning them first or giving them a chance to surrender); forbidding the owner's father-in-law to bandage his wounds or comfort him in any way; harassing him in the ambulance as well as at the hospital, where they handcuffed him to his bed as he tried to recover from their rampage. And yet most Americans insist we 'need' cops. Only if we need murder, rape, plunder, and extortion. And bills for $10 million, the amount the owner seeks for the cops' crimes against him." Newly Hired Detroit Emergency Manager Has Some Financial Issues Of His Own

"Records show that the new Detroit emergency financial manager, Kevyn Orr, has some unpaid taxes and two liens on his Maryland home. Orr has apparently not paid $16,000 in unemployment taxes. A spokesman for Governor Rick Snyder, who recommended Orr for the job, tells the Detroit News that there was an oversight by an accountant hired to file taxes for Orr. The spokesman says Orr has researched the issue and will pay in full as soon as possible. Some opponents of the EFM say it’s interesting that Orr believes he can manage Detroit when he’s having trouble handling his own affairs. Orr was part of the legal team that worked on Chrysler’s bankruptcy." Continue reading
