A Bridge Too Far…Snyder Back Dooring

“Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy”.  ~Ernest Benn

MIRS is reporting that Gov. Snyder is looking elsewhere besides the Legislature and a bill  to try and get his pet project DRIC built. Word is that the Snyder administration is looking at several “back door” options….one is to rewrite State Trunkline Act (Public Act 51 under ) giving more authority to MDOT to cut a deal with Canada

The Legislature does appropriate state money, however spokesperson from MDOT would circumvent that also by using ONLY Federal money

Can some tell me why this bridge is so critical to built now, please? Evidently Gov. Snyder sees the bridge  as some kind of monument to his legacy. If private enterprise wants to built the Bridge at no cost to taxpayer and without sticking Michigan’s hand in the debt ridden, strings attached Federal government cookie jar then I say…let Capitalism work!!
