"TV news stations in LA are warning people not to drive pick up trucks in LA and to obey all traffic laws or risk being shot by police who are 'all stressed out and tense,' as a result of a cop killer on the loose. The killer is ex-cop Christopher Jordan Dorner, he is a 6 foot black man weighing 270 pounds. As a result of the manhunt, Southern California cops have shot two Asian women, delivering newspapers, who happened to be driving a vehicle similar to the one Doner is believed to be driving." Defense Secretary Panetta admits the Pentagon and Clinton supported arming Syrian rebels

"Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Thursday admitted for the first time that the Pentagon had backed proposals to arm the Syrian opposition battling to oust President Bashar al-Assad. The idea was first floated by former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, who met privately with David Petraeus, then CIA chief, in the summer of 2012 as the fighting raged in Syria. "At his confirmation hearing on Thursday, President Barack Obama’s nominee for CIA director refused to state whether or not waterboarding was a form of torture. When pressed by Democratic Sen. Dutch PM: Eurozone needs exit clause

"The EU should have legal mechanisms for countries to leave the euro, says Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. In a letter responding to a question in the Dutch Parliament, Rutte and his finance minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem, said that his governing coalition had agreed that 'it should be possible under mutual consideration to exit from the community arrangements (Schengen, eurozone, European Union).' The letter follows Rutte's intervention last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he said that it "should be possible" for countries to leave the eurozone and indicated that certain EU policy areas should be repatriated to national governments." Americans Collecting Disability Increased 1,385,418—Now 1 for Each 13 Full-Time Workers

"During President Barack Obama’s first term, the number of Americans collecting federal disability insurance increased by 1,385,418 to a record 8,827,795. As a result, there is now one person collecting disability in this county for every 13 people working full-time. Forty-two years ago, in December 1968, there were 51 people working full-time in this country for each person collecting disability. Back in January 2001, there was one person collecting disability for every 23 full-time workers; by December 2004 there was one person collecting disability for every 19 full-time workers; and by December 2008, there was one person collecting disability for every 16 full-time workers." Bad Economy Has Young Europeans at Home

"In 2011, more that 50 percent of the 25- to 34-year-olds in Greece, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Malta still lived in their parents' homes. In Portugal, Italy, Hungary and Romania more than 40 percent of those in this age group remain in the nest (see graphic). These numbers are in stark contrast to those in the EU's most northerly member nations, with less than 5 percent of 24- to 34-year-olds in Finland, Sweden and Denmark. A similar phenomenon, dubbed the 'boomerang generation,' has been identified in the United States, where some 29 percent of Americans in the same age have had to return to their parents' home in recent years." "Nationwide, more than half of people under 25 can't find jobs, while in Andalusia the figure is higher than 62 percent. Those who are a little older -- around 30 and well educated -- are seeing their lifelong dreams turn into failures. Many are forced to do what García and Vivar have done. The two grown men gave up their apartments and moved back into their parents' homes, because they were no longer making enough money. "A sobering new report by the Corporation for Enterprise Development shows nearly half of U.S. households (132.1 million people) don't have enough savings to weather emergencies, or finance long-term needs like college tuition, health care and housing. According to the Assets & Opportunity Scorecard, these people wouldn't last three months if their income was suddenly depleted. More than 30 percent don't even have a savings account, and another 8 percent don't bank at all.
