Constitution 101: The “general Welfare” Clause

This is Monday’s Tenther newsletter, which everyone in the nullification movement gets daily or weekly. Be one of them.

Yes, it’s pretty ironic.

On Friday, unconstitutional government-run schools will celebrate “Constitution Day.” While I certainly believe it’s essential to teach people about the Constitution, the discussions in the government schools generally focus on “Constitution Trivia” instead of what’s really important.

While it may be good to educate people on how many years a Senator serves, or how Supreme Court justices are appointed, it’s not enough. Seriously lacking in the public discourse is the actual purpose of the Constitution – its underlying principles.

To us here at the TAC, Constitution Day is EVERY day! And last weekend, we released another short video on one of the most abused parts of it, the “general Welfare” Clause. Watch it here:

As usual, I know that a 2 minute video like this probably covers a lot of information you’re already aware of, but I think it makes for a really powerful tool to educate other people on the original meaning of the clause.

When you have a few minutes, check it out. If you agree that it makes for a good introduction, please go ahead and share it was widely as possible via social media and email (there are buttons to make this pretty easy right on our site)

IN OTHER NEWS:

1) Mike Maharrey has put together an overview of some of the many kinds of spy gear that local police are using today – most of which is unconstitutionally provided by federal agencies or grant programs.

2) With Federal Reserve policies driving the economy to the brink of another major recession, this article by JP Cortez shows an important step that states can take to help protect and advance Constitutional Tender.
