James Madison’s Advice: Refuse to Comply

In Federalist #46, James Madison – “Father of the Constitution” – didn’t say “Wait till the next election.” He didn’t say “Take them to court.” And he didn’t say “Give them new rules to follow.”

He advised “a refusal to cooperate with officers of the Union.”
