Since there a lot of samples here, a few things to note:

  • The more localized the sample ballot, the more relevant the information is to you. (The most localized samples are county, not precinct-based.)  We'd like to make more county level samples available, but with 91 others to gather and not many online, we would need local readers' help -- if you're interested, please use our Contact Form.
  • The statewide ballots are published per political subdivision 2The shortcoming of statewide ballots versus a full county sample ballot is the absence of items that are specific within the county, such as local ...continue(e.g. State Legislature, State Board of Education, Natural Resource District, etc. ).
  • If you'd like to find out more about some of the political subdivisions on your ballot, we recommend our 2014 election article "The Obscure Stuff"
  • Even with county-level sample ballots, sorting out precisely what will be on YOUR ballot can be a chore; using your Voter Information Card makes it easier. For instance, the Lancaster County sample ballot is three pages. This is because it lists all relevant offices, issues and referendums for all political subdivisions within the county. It might be helpful to highlight your specific political subdivisions on a printed sample, using your Voter Information Card as reference. If you don't have the card handy, you can quickly access it from the Secretary of State's voter information website. Click on the image below to go straight to a page where you enter your name and birthdate to obtain a list of all of your specific subdivisions as well as your polling place location.
