If you’re interested in important issues like…
- Discriminatory “Anti-Discrimination” legislation like the Lincoln and Omaha “Fairness” ordinances creating new classes of protected individuals including homosexuals, transgender, etc.
- Implementation of “ObamaCare” – the health care law
- Efforts to implement “green” policies (referred to as sustainable development by many, and also known as Agenda 21)
- Rights of parents
…And live in or are interested in taking a drive to West Point, NE, tomorrow, Saturday, March 16, you’re encouraged to attend a conference event.
Event organizer, Ed Hernandez, decided to use the opportunity of a visit to the area by a fellow with whom he is familiar, Dr. Scott Lively, the founder and President of Defend the Family International, to pull together this event.
The purpose is to provide information about several important issues currently facing citizens of Nebraska, with particular emphasis on the issue that has resulted in four pieces of legislation introduced during this current session of the Unicameral. Ed noted in extending the invitation:
“More than 5 years ago I moved my family from CA to escape the intolerant ways of those pushing the anti-religious liberty of the homosexual agenda.”
Dr. Lively, the keynote speaker of the event, reportedly has traveled to 30 countries to promote and defend the biblical view of marriage and family. (You can read more about him by following the RSVP link provided at the bottom of this notice.)
Hearings on the four bills mentioned were held on Thursday, March 15, and there will be updated information available.
Besides Dr. Lively in the morning, the event will have breakout sessions, with presentations from Nebraskans on the other important issues outlined above, all of which have some legislation active in this session of the Unicameral and/or important recent events associated with them.
I apologize to readers and recipients of messages about the short notice, but I’d rather let people know about the opportunity at the last minute than not. Do note that we here at GiN aren’t the organizing entity for this event and don’t know all of the participants / presenters, except for two of them, the organizer, and myself, who will be conducting the health care breakout session.
