Signed as Law: Colorado Limits Government Use of Facial Recognition

The law prohibits Colorado law enforcement agencies from engaging in ongoing surveillance, conducting real-time or near real-time identification, or from starting persistent tracking using facial recognition without a warrant in most situations. In order to obtain a warrant, police must first establish probable cause and show that the use of facial recognition is necessary to develop leads in an investigation.

Ohio Permitless Carry Law Now in Effect

Under the law, adults 21 and over who can legally possess a handgun in the state of Ohio can carry a concealed firearm without a state-issued permit. The legislation retains the current permitting process for those who wish to obtain a license in order to carry concealed in other states with CCDW reciprocity with Ohio.

Who is to Blame for the Latest Federal Gun Control?

Most people have a short memory, keep things partisan, or are completely ignorant of the history of federal gun control. None of these are acceptable ways to deal with the dangers we face. As Samuel Adams warned, “if we suffer tamely as lawless attack on our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom!”
