Chicago Police Superintendent Says Cops Will Shoot Gun Carrying Citizens

“Chicago police superintendent Garry McCarthy is not happy about the new concealed carry laws in Illinois. And now he is predicting that police will shoot citizens who are lawfully carrying firearms. While every cop has a right to protect himself, this bold statement by McCarthy is obviously meant to intimidate gun owners who choose to exercise their rights. This threat that cops may mistakenly shoot a gun carrying citizen is just another attempt to fight the concealed carry laws that Illinois has long been deprived of. McCarthy would not say what specific training officers will undertake if any. However, he did admit that in the past his department has made mistakes in shooting unarmed civilians.” Continue reading

‘What is Government?’ Elementary Students Taught It’s Your ‘Family’

“Fourth-grade students in Illinois are learning that “government is like a nation’s family” because it sets rules and takes care of needs such as health care and education. So says a worksheet for social studies homework that was distributed to students at East Prairie School in Skokie, Ill, complete with a drawing of Uncle Same cradling a baby that represents the citizens. Students are then prompted to answer 10 questions comparing government and families, including how their family provides for their health care needs and how the government does the same, and what rules families set and what rules government sets.” Continue reading

Greenwald Uses Pre-Russia Snowden Data to Hammer the NSA Again.

“The NSA’s spying is comprehensive. Everyone is grist for the mill. Every foreign politician now knows that he is being monitored. Greenwald is using Snowden’s basket of eggs to cook up fresh eggs for Obama’s face every month. Nothing will change at the NSA, of course. Its gigantic hidden budget will not be touched. The spying will go on. Congress will do nothing. But the blowback will also go on. Obama will continue to look like a conniving functionary of the NSA, which he in fact is. The NSA is in charge; Obama isn’t. It’s very bad for creating the image of Obama as the man in charge. He is either out of the loop or low man on the totem pole.” Continue reading

Substitutionary Justice In A Free Society

“Imagine if you will that the following scenario takes place in a free society: Someone has information about a group who was committing horrible acts of violence across the globe. The leaders of the group claim their rights were violated by the individual, and they convince a court to find this person guilty. The group convinces the court that the individual’s actions are so heinous that he must spend the next 136 years of his life in jail. Now, on the other hand, many of the people who were informed of the horrible misdeeds of the group are not convinced. Some of the people are so adamant in their support, that they offer to serve a portion of his sentence in order for him to go free.” Continue reading

Pro-Assad hackers target Marine Corps recruiting website

“Pro-Syrian regime hackers posted messages on a US Marine Corps recruiting website on Monday, urging troops to defy orders from President Barack Obama. The hackers showed photos of people in American uniforms holding hand-written signs saying they would not fight for Al-Qaeda in Syria. ‘Obama is a traitor who wants to put your lives in danger to rescue al-Qaeda insurgents,’ the message read, according to a screenshot from The Wall Street Journal. The US Marine Corps confirmed the intrusion but said the affected site, Marines.com, the official recruitment portal for the Corps, was back to normal.” Continue reading

‘Let’s tax the sun’: new law shocks world press

“A new tax on solar power introduced two weeks ago by the Spanish government has been described as ‘ludicrous’ and ‘stupid’ in two leading international publications. Business Spectator interviewed people who plan to ignore the new law, including Sergio Pomar, chief executive of energy-efficient installation firm INEL. He said: ‘If I spend €600 to install solar panels and get fined €6 million let the judge decide.’ Private individuals who fail to hook their solar panels up to the national grid to be metered and taxed could face fines of up to €30 million ($40 million) under the new law. Some homeowners have removed their solar panels rather than face fines of up to €30 million.” Continue reading

Global Warming Alarmists Seek to Restrict Air Conditioning

“New York University sociology professor Eric Klinenberg said it is ‘indefensible’ for people to use air conditioning the way we do. Klinenberg argues that air conditioning requires too much electricity, the generation of which accelerates global warming. ‘What’s indefensible is our habit of converting homes, offices and massive commercial outlets into igloos on summer days, regardless of how hot it is outdoors,’ wrote Klinenberg. Klinenberg also argued for laws requiring businesses to keep summer temperatures at their facilities above a government-dictated mandatory minimum.” Continue reading
