Under the proposed law, anyone who is legally allowed to own a gun could carry it without a state-issued permit, though they would still be able to apply for one. Currently, Minnesota gun owners must apply for a five-year permit at their county sheriff’s office.

A bill introduced in the Minnesota House would expand the sales tax exemption on gold and silver to include bullion coins. The passage of this bill would relieve some of the tax burdens on investors, and would also eliminate another barrier to using gold and silver in everyday transactions, a foundational step for people to undermine the Federal Reserve’s monopoly on money.

The legislation would help block the use of cell-site simulators, commonly known as “stingrays.” These devices essentially spoof cell phone towers, tricking any device within range into connecting to the stingray instead of the tower, allowing law enforcement to sweep up communications content, as well as locate and track the person in possession of a specific phone or electronic device.
