South Carolina Bill Would Ban Cell Site Simulators, Hinder Federal Surveillance

In effect, H3389 would prohibit South Carolina law enforcement agencies from purchasing cell-site simulator technology or devices. Any police department that currently possesses or uses cell-site simulator technology or devices would be required to discontinue its use and discard the technology or devices.

Killer Robot Plan Killed. For Now.

After initially approving a new plan to allow police robots to be armed with lethal force, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors faced such a severe public backlash that they actually reversed course and banned the practice, at least for now. But the plan only came to light due to a 10th Amendment law passed in 2021 addressing the unconstitutional federal militarization of local police.

South Carolina Bills Would Take Steps Toward Treating Gold and Silver as Money

Practically speaking, this would allow South Carolina residents to use gold or silver coins as money rather than just as a mere investment vehicle. In effect, it would put gold and silver on the same footing as Federal Reserve notes.

Texas Bill Would Ban State Enforcement of Federal Rules and Regulations on Oil and Gas Production

The proposed law would prohibit any state agency or its employees from contracting with or providing assistance to a federal agency or official in the enforcement of a federal statute, order, rule, or regulation purporting to regulate oil and gas operations if it does not exist under the laws of Texas.
