So…now evil coal smoke SAVES the planet?

As in, coal-fired plants can save us all from “Global Warming™”?

Now who will save us from idiot environmentalists?

I remember back in 7th grade at Sevilla Elementary School in Phoenix having a science teacher who predicted an “Ice Age” by 1995; a year that in 1971 or 2 seemed like a million years away. He also predicted that gas prices would shoot sky high before we ever got old enough to drive a car.

Okay, he blew the first prediction, and missed the second by only a couple of years.

He’s not the only one blowing those climate predictions [emphasis mine];

Weather Science: Climate alarmists are now explaining away their failed predictions by claiming China’s power plants emit sulfur dioxide that cancels out carbon dioxide emissions. So should we burn more coal?

Among the emails unearthed during ClimateGate, when scientists working at or with Britain’s Climate Research Unit conspired to “hide the decline” in global temperatures, is one from Kevin Trenberth of the National Center for Atmospheric Research to Michael Mann, inventor of the now-discredited “hockey stick” graph that purported to show sudden and dangerous man-induced temperature rise.

Trenberth says: “Well, I have my own article on where the heck is global warming. We are asking that here in Boulder (Colo.), where we have broken records the past two days for the coldest days on record. We had 4 inches of snow.”

Trenberth also says: “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment, and it is a travesty that we can’t.”

See that? Trenberth’s heart seems broken that the evidence is pointing away from their entire made up climate model and back to “It’s a friggin’ natural thing to have the climate going through cycles over the years”. Only that theory doesn’t get them scientific grants from the various governments that throw money away when people run around with their hair on fire and blame every catastrophe on evil mankind.

Boiled down, they can now re-ignite their hair and start screaming about “Global Dimming“;

Global dimming is the gradual reduction in the amount of global direct irradiance at the Earth‘s surface that was observed for several decades after the start of systematic measurements in the 1950s. The effect varies by location, but worldwide it has been estimated to be of the order of a 4% reduction over the three decades from 1960–1990. However, after discounting an anomaly caused by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, a very slight reversal in the overall trend has been observed.[1]

Global dimming is thought to have been caused by an increase in particulates such as sulfate aerosols in the atmosphere due to human action.

It has interfered with the hydrological cycle by reducing evaporation and may have reduced rainfall in some areas. Global dimming also creates a cooling effect that may have partially masked the effect of greenhouse gases on global warming.

Deliberate manipulation of this dimming effect is now being considered as a geoengineering technique to reduce the impact of global warming.

So…Obama threatens to bankrupt coal consumers formerly http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=52536 who produce “…all that greenhouse gas…”, and now it turns out that coal protects us from those greenhouse gasses?

Hear that, West Virginia Record (formerly linked here )? Game on!

Now, somebody want to tell Obama to call off his dogs at the EPA?
