Thoughts on “Assault Weapons” and “Magazine Limits” from an Actual Gun Expert

"I don’t think American politicians have the same evil motives as some of the world’s most reprehensible dictators, all of whom supported gun control as a way of controlling – and in many cases slaughtering – their people. Indeed, I suspect some of them simply are unaware of the facts that Mr. Correia provides in the article." Continue reading

Four arrested during protest of nudity ban in San Francisco

"Four people were arrest during a protest of San Francisco’s nudity ban, which was passed late last year and went into effect on Feb. 1, reported the Associated Press. Two days ago, a court upheld the ban, explaining that it did not violate the First Amendment: 'In spite of what plaintiffs argue, nudity in and of itself is not inherently expressive.' 'We’re not here to arrest and cite people if we don’t have to,' police officer Albie Esparza told the AP, 'but if we have to, we will.'" Continue reading

Massive espionage malware targeting governments undetected for 5 years

"Researchers have uncovered an ongoing, large-scale computer espionage network that's targeting hundreds of diplomatic, governmental, and scientific organizations in at least 39 countries, including the Russian Federation, Iran, and the United States. Operation Red October, as researchers from antivirus provider Kaspersky Lab have dubbed the highly coordinated campaign, has been active since 2007, raising the possibility it has already siphoned up hundreds of terabytes of sensitive information. The main purpose of the campaign is to gather classified information and geopolitical intelligence." Continue reading

Journalists, Politicians Refuse to Post Lawn Sign saying “HOME IS PROUDLY GUN FREE”

"Since these reporters and editors did not consider it a violation of the privacy and safety of others to reveal which homes have guns and which homes don't, we went to see which of them would be willing to put a sign up publicly declaring their homes to be gun-free zones. While we didn't find any members of the media with the strength of their convictions, we did find quite a few guns, and some good explanations for why they might be necessary. Guns for Me, but not for Thee." Continue reading

Harvard Meta-Study Indicates Fluoride Reduces Children’s IQ

"A recent report from the U.S. National Research Council (NRC 2006) concluded that adverse effects of high fluoride concentrations in drinking water may be of concern and that additional research is warranted. Findings from our meta-analyses of 27 studies published over 22 years suggest an inverse association between high fluoride exposure and children's intelligence. The results suggest that fluoride may be a developmental neurotoxicant that affects brain development at exposures much below those that can cause toxicity in adults. In conclusion, our results support the possibility of adverse effects of fluoride exposures on children's neurodevelopment." Continue reading

Still no list of Q4 2012 ex-Americans in the Federal Register

"If you, I, or any other U.S. person abroad fails to report some information to the U.S. government under Chapter 61, Subchapter A, Part II, Subpart A of the Internal Revenue Code, we might have to pay the U.S. government tens of thousands of dollars of fines, regardless of the actual underlying tax deficiency. If the U.S. government fails to report some information to us under the exact same Subpart, we get zip. So don’t get too excited when you hear that today’s Federal Register is missing something; after all, it’s only the ninth time in sixteen quarters that Timothy Franz Geithner has violated this single provision of the law of the land." Internal Revenue Code severely punishes (other) countries which impose extraterritorial taxation

"Even more hilariously hypocritical than the 1974 Jackson–Vanik Amendment — which slaps trade sanctions on countries imposing unreasonable barriers to emigration of their citizens — I bring you 26 USC § 891: 'Doubling of rates of tax on citizens and corporations of certain foreign countries', a law originally passed in 1934 and still in effect today." This Week in Police Law Enforcement: What They Do When They Come For You

"The police chief in Connecticut's largest city [Bridgeport] has pulled three officers off the streets after a video was posted online showing them kicking and stomping on a man they had already subdued with a stun gun. In the video, a stun gun is heard being fired and a man falls to the ground at a park. Two officers stand over the motionless man and begin kicking him. A third officer drives up and attacks him."
