Media Begin Orchestrating the Celebration: the FED’s 100th Birthday

"We are beginning to see a coordinated media celebration of the Federal Reserve System. This is in preparation for the 100th anniversary of its creation just before the Christmas holidays in 1913, when the bill was passed by a handful of Senators and signed into law within two hours by President Wilson. The Establishment media’s objective with this media blitz is clear: to praise the FED’s independence from the federal government, despite the fact that it possesses federal sovereignty. No other organization possesses federal sovereignty, yet is beyond federal control. It is unique in this respect." Continue reading

Autonomy of the Federal Reserve Is Praised by Media

"With the 100th birthday celebration of the FED coming in late December, the media have begun serving as the FED’s 'Amen corner.' This Associated Press article on Janet Yellen is typical. Her main qualification is said to be her independence of the President. Is she liberal? Yes. Is she a dove on inflation? Yes. No matter. No other institution of our government gets a free ride the way the Board of Governors of the FED does. No other agency with its URL ending in .gov has such autonomy. No, not even the CIA. The CIA still must be funded by Congress. The FED funds Congress." Continue reading

Washington Post Article Identifies FED Chairman as #2 in Power

"No Establishment author comes out and says this: 'The Federal Reserve System possesses complete federal sovereignty, yet is beyond the power of any branch of government. It is legally more independent than the CIA. This is a great thing. Democracy has its limits, and should not be defended as a universally legitimate system of government.' This is in fact what the entire American Establishment believes, but never, ever says in public. The Establishment says 'independent,' not 'anti-democratic.' They figure that the rubes — voters — will not catch on. They assume correctly." Continue reading

The System Of The World – An Infographic

"This is The System Of The World. It lays out in logical frankness how the various layers of the facade we call 'democracy' and 'free markets' interoperate and together create a grotesque caricature of the ideals they purport to serve and keep us all enslaved. Join us on a trip through The System." Continue reading

Big Banks Start Campaign to Destroy Credit Unions

"As of March of this year, credit union membership has increased to more than 95 million members and they hold 6 percent of the financial assets of United States to the tune of $1 trillion dollars. Now the major banks want to destroy them. This month the American Bankers Association started a huge lobbying effort to end the tax break credit unions receive as non-profit organizations – a tax break that allows them to run as a non-profit and offer their members services at a much lower rate. There is a big budget battle looming and the estimated $2 billion in annual revenue that is estimated from eliminating the tax exemption has already been floated." Continue reading

Plundering The Provinces

"The establishment media and many economists and other social scientists continually bemoan the varying income differences generated by voluntary and ever changing consumer choices on the market. In the U.S., the political class regularly and forcibly extracts a massive amount of income from productive workers, investors, and entrepreneurs via taxation and money creation ('quantitative easing' and 'zero interest-rate policies') and funnels these stolen funds into its own pockets and those of privileged financial institutions, giant agribusiness corporations, government military contractors, construction unions, etc." Continue reading

Rep holds up vodka and steak on House floor to shame food stamp opponents

"Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) on Thursday held up steak, vodka and caviar during her House floor speech in an effort to shame Republicans who want to slash $40 billion from the food stamp budget, while they continue to go on 'lavish' trips financed by taxpayers and other groups. Earlier this month, House Republicans introduced a bill that caved to conservative members and doubled the amount of cuts the party was proposing to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. 'They dine at lavish restaurants, eating steak, vodka and even caviar,' she added, showing food props to members of the House. 'They receive money to do this. That’s right, they don’t pay out of pocket for these meals.'" Continue reading

Georgia congressman complains: ‘I’m stuck here making $172,000 a year’

"A Georgia Republican congressman was caught complaining about what he described as a low salary in a closed-door meeting with fellow party members concerning the Affordable Care Act. During a discussion concerning a possible exemption for lawmakers and staff members from taking part in the state health exchanges mandated by the new law, Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) reportedly lamented that aides can become lobbyists 'and make 500,000 a year. Meanwhile I’m stuck here making $172,000 a year.' USA Today reported that Gingrey’s net worth is estimated to be between $3 million and $7.6 million, while the median household income in Georgia is $49,736." Continue reading

All Government Policies Succeed in the Long Run

"Many people, for good reason, have concluded that the surest test of whether a politician or public official is lying is to ask, Are his lips moving? An equally simple test may be proposed to determine whether a seemingly failed policy is actually a success for the movers and shakers of the political class. This test requires only that we ask, Does the policy remain in effect? If it does, we can be sure that it continues to serve the interests of those who are actually decisive in determining the sorts of policy the government establishes and implements." Continue reading

Starbucks CEO: ‘Guns are not a part of the Starbucks experience’

"In an open letter released today, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said that Starbucks will now 'respectfully request' that gun owners not bring their guns into Starbucks, even in states where 'open' or 'concealed carry' is permitted. 'We’re not pro-gun or anti-gun,' he told Bloomberg Businessweek, but he wanted to stop events like Starbucks Appreciation Day, in which those legally permitted to carry firearms were encouraged to patronize Starbucks while brandishing firearms."
