Senators Demand that Banks Be Punished – but Not the Fed

"Bring these banksters to justice. But not the good, gray men of central banking. We are not surprised. The power elites are deathly frightened, in our view, that their control over central banks is in jeopardy. They will sacrifice the entire financial infrastructure to make sure central banks are not attacked. They are trying to do this any way they can. They are trying to set up neo-Pecora hearings to focus on Wall Street and the securities industry in general. There will be similar attacks in Europe and Britain. Maybe in China and Japan too, who knows?" Continue reading

The Road to Debt-Serfdom

"The road to debt-serfdom is paved by the banks and enforced by the Central State. Put aside the picture of leading lawmakers, usually so jealous of their constitutional prerogatives, asking the president to ignore Congress. Every one of the letter's signers voted against raising the nation’s debt ceiling just seven years ago." Continue reading

The Architect of Obamacare is Now Cashing in By Using Obamacare to Sue Insurers

"After nearly three years at the Department of Health and Human Services, longtime insurance regulator and plaintiff’s attorney Jay Angoff is returning to DC-based Mehri & Skalet, PLLC as a partner, where he will lead the firm’s insurance and healthcare practice. Is it relevant that the man who helped craft Obamacare’s regulations on insurers will now make lots of money by suing insurers based on those regulations? Think about the incentives at play here: If you are a lawyer working for the government, and you shape the laws in such a way as to make lawsuits easier, you are then making yourself more valuable to a potential future employer."
