New Petition Demands that UN Offset Its Carbon Footprint

"The United Nations has come under attack for not practicing what it preaches. It is the ambition of the UN and of the Money Power that sits behind it to monetize 'carbon pollution.' Within this context, it seems perfectly logical to request that UN officials support their own green efforts by participating in the commerce they are attempting to inflict on everyone else. We doubt that the UN will do what it demands of others." Continue reading

British terror suspects quietly stripped of citizenship… then killed by drones

"At least five of those deprived of their UK nationality by the Coalition were born in Britain, and one man had lived in the country for almost 50 years. Those affected have their passports cancelled, and lose their right to enter the UK – making it very difficult to appeal against the Home Secretary’s decision. Last night the Liberal Democrats’ deputy leader Simon Hughes said he was writing to Ms May to call for an urgent review into how the law was being implemented. The leading human rights lawyer Gareth Peirce said the present situation 'smacked of mediaeval exile, just as cruel and just as arbitrary'." Continue reading

Two-Tier ‘Privileged Flyer’ Program Advances in EU

"We have in various articles catalogued US programs that allow one to be "pre-approved" and thus avoid the long lines of those who are yet, apparently, to be considered potential terrorists. Eventually, such system will turn into something more difficult, of course – as the emphasis shifts from the approved to the non-approved. In other words, eventually those who are not approved to travel may have trouble taking advantage of modern travel conveniences such as planes, trains, buses and eventually automobiles. Now in a press release, we are informed the EU is taking steps to harmonize its travel program with the US's and other powers." Continue reading

Our Laws Make those of Medieval England Seem Reasonable

"40-year-old Orlando, Florida resident Anthony Brasfield was with his girlfriend in the parking lot of a motel when he released a handful of helium-filled, heart-shaped balloons into the air. A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper saw this and arrested Brasfield for violating the Florida Air and Water Pollution Control Act –a third-degree felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years. On February 23, Lendsey and Delilha Harbin, a married couple from Portage, Indiana, paid for a ticket to see the new action film 'Snitch' and then, after it ended, decided to switch theaters and catch the zombie movie 'Warm Bodies.' They were charged with felony theft." Continue reading

Ed Flynn: Milwaukee Crime Lord, Citizen Disarmament Advocate

"Every city police department is an armed gang organized to implement the will of the municipal corporation that employs them. Under the rule of Ed Flynn the Milwaukee PD has become one of the most malodorous outfits of its kind in the Midwestern United States. Flynn clearly sees himself as commanding an army of occupation. In practical terms, he is less a warlord than a crime lord who presides over an officially sanctioned street gang. Like most petty dictators of his ilk, Flynn is protected by a praetorian guard that will retaliate against people who speak ill of their dear leader." Continue reading

Philly Judge Who Found Cop Not Guilty, Married to Cop

"The video showing Philadelphia Police Lt. Jonathan Josey punching a woman was overwhelming enough for his department to quickly fire him last year. But it wasn’t enough for a judge to find him guilty of simple assault this week. Now we’re learning that Municipal Judge Patrick Dugan is married to a longtime Philadelphia police officer who just happened to be one of about 100 officers in court showing their support for Josey during his non-jury trial earlier this month." Government Elitists Really Love the Power and Special Privileges

"In the clip below, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie tells a little girl that the fun thing about being Governor is that the lanes into the tunnels into New York City are cleared for him and that he doesn't have to wait in line. I once heard Fed chairman Bernanke give a similar answer. When asked what he liked about being Fed chairman, he said it was not having to go through TSA screening." Continue reading

Connecticut Towns Pay Out Big for Deadly SWAT Drug Raid

"Five Connecticut towns whose SWAT team killed an unarmed man during a 2008 drug raid have agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by the man's family. Another lawsuit, filed by the man who owned the home that was raided, is pending. Police videos showed them throwing a flash-bang grenade through a window, smashing down the back door, and yelling out, 'Police, warrant!' When it was over, Guizan lay dead on the floor with six gunshot wounds and Terebisi, who had been pinned by one of the officers, was handcuffed and dragged out of the house. Sweeney received the Monroe Police Officer of the Year award for his part in the raid." Continue reading

The Drone War Doctrine We Still Know Nothing About

"In these attacks, known as 'signature strikes,' drone operators fire on people whose identities they do not know based on evidence of suspicious behavior or other 'signatures.' According to anonymously sourced media reports, such attacks on unidentified targets account for many, or even most, drone strikes. Despite that, the administration has never publicly spoken about signature strikes. What is the legal justification for signature strikes? What qualifies as a 'signature' that would prompt a deadly strike? Do those being targeted have to pose a threat to the United States? And how many civilians have been killed in such strikes?"
