Obama To College Grads: Reject Voices That Warn About Government Tyranny

"Unfortunately, you've grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that's at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They'll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can't be trusted." Continue reading

Non-Muslims Carried Out More than 90% of All Terrorist Attacks on U.S. Soil

"Based on our review of the approximately 2,400 terrorist attacks on U.S. soil contained within the START database, we determined that approximately 60 were carried out by Muslims. In other words, approximately 2.5% of all terrorist attacks on U.S. soil between 1970 and 2012 were carried out by Muslims.* This is a tiny proportion of all attacks. We determined that approximately 118 of the terror attacks – or 4.9% – were carried out by Jewish groups such as Jewish Armed Resistance, the Jewish Defense League, Jewish Action Movement, United Jewish Underground and Thunder of Zion. This is almost twice the percentage of Islamic attacks within the United States." Continue reading

Fractional Reserve Banking: It’s Not Your Money…You Only Think It Is!

"In the aftermath of the forced confiscation of bank accounts in Cyprus, the question that clients ask me most is, 'could it happen here?' 'Here' is wherever the client lives or invests, and could be the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, or any other country. The answer is yes. This result stems from the nature of our modern financial system, built as it is on the flawed foundation of a poorly-understood concept called 'fractional reserve banking.' This new reality is harsh, but as I said before, it’s healthy. People need to be reminded that money deposited in a bank converts their wealth into a debt-claim." Continue reading

Government’s New Regulation That Screws Corporate Pensioners

"The latest is a new government regulation that was snuck into a transportation bill, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century, aka, MAP-21. Some progress, the bill requires corporations to calculate payments into pensions based on a 25-year average on interest rates, instead of current rates. In other words, with current low rates, corporations in reality need to make larger contributions to meet pension fund growth goals. But according to new government regulations, corporations now need to calculate pension fund payments based on an interest rate earned on pension assets that can't possibly be earned." David Galland: Chains of Convention

"It behooves us all to periodically stop and examine our life path. What's missing in your life? What seemingly never gets fixed, and unfixed, makes your unhappy or unfulfilled? On examination, you may find that the problem is that you are adhering to convention, and doing so at great personal cost. Nancy did something that probably not one in a half a million people in her circumstances would have done – break the chains of convention and set out to enjoy the remaining years of what is likely to be a much longer life as a free and independent woman." Bill Bonner: Fed’s QE has not created one single extra job

"Our central banks are engaged in a breathtaking program of activism. We don't know where it will lead. But, from the historical record, activism and central banking go no better together than drinking and driving. Keep it up long enough and you're bound to have an accident. But the accident hasn't happened yet. So most people have stopped worrying about it. They smell the liquor on the driver's breath. But they get on the bus anyway. The most reckless driving in central bank history...raising the footings of the US financial system by a factor of 5 times...from $800 billion to $4 trillion...and it has not resulted in one single extra job." Michael Scheuer: Limbaugh, Levin, and Hannity eager to see more dead Americans

"You will never hear directly from the mouths of Rush, Mark, and Sean what they are implicitly telling Americans; that is, that they hate virtually everything the Founding Fathers thought and prescribed for U.S. foreign policy — in short hand, do not stick your nose in other peoples’ affairs in which you have no interest — and that they do not mind how many Americans get killed as long as Washington keeps pursuing the interventionist foreign policy they believe benefits their friends overseas and their benefactors at home." Ron Paul on Bernanke’s Criminal Gang

"I am disappointed, but not surprised, that the Federal Reserve decided to hand the American people more of the same failed policies that caused and then perpetuated our current financial crisis. Chairman Bernanke may believe there is no inflation, but try telling that to seniors who are on a fixed income, students trying to save for college, and the millions of other Americans who are contending daily with rising prices. If the problem was the Fed not printing enough, and Congress not spending enough, why have the trillions of dollars in monetary stimulus only benefited big banks and corporations?" Continue reading

Boston Bombers’ Family Received $100,000 in Government Welfare

"We know that this sort of thing goes on. We know that the welfare state is now basic to American life. But bombers or not, this family has been openly ungrateful. They have had nothing good to say about America. But America is an equal opportunity welfare state. Those who hate the country are given the same handouts as those who love the country. What did the handouts buy the voters? Resentment. The younger brother was a stoner. He spent the taxpayers’ hard-earned money on marijuana. His older brother used the money to fly to Russia and then, somehow, get to Chechnya. How the Russian authorities missed that excursion remains an unanswered question." Continue reading
