New law will ban protesters from riding mass transit in California

"Starting next week, law enforcement officers policing the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system in San Francisco, Sacramento, Oakland and other cities can issue bus and subway bans for unruly passengers — and according to one local news report, that power could be used to prevent political protesters from getting to demonstrations or essentially going anywhere. Under the recently passed State Assembly Bill 716, BART can issue 'prohibition' orders to any passenger cited or arrested for certain offenses, essentially blacklisting some people from boarding public transit vehicles if they’ve been charged with certain crimes." Gun nights for ladies spring up at shooting ranges around the country

"In a growing trend, many of the pro-gun groups — like the ladies at The Fredericksburg Range — are all women, aiming, as Ovalle explains, 'to teach a lady how to handle a gun safely.' The 'Shooting Divas' group trains just a few miles away in Virginia, while 'Gun Powder Gals' is based in North Carolina and 'A Girl and A Gun' organizes some 40 groups around the country. And websites, magazines, merchandise — pink pistols and bra holsters — abound in the growing market. According to polling firm Gallup, 13 percent of women in the US owned a gun in 2005 compared to 23 percent in 2011." Continue reading

Cops Barge Into Home, Take Baby After Parents Seek 2nd Medical Opinion

"The next day police showed up at the Nikolayev’s home with representatives from Child Protective Services (CPS). Alex went outside to meet them, where he says he was 'pushed against the building.' When he asked if he was being placed under arrest, he said they 'smacked me down onto the ground [and] yelled out, ‘I think I got the keys to the house.’' Seeing the scene outside, Anna set up a camera in front of her door. Video shows police letting themselves in without a warrant, and taking the baby. 'I’m going to grab your baby, and don’t resist, and don’t fight me okay?' one officer can be heard telling the mother in the video." Continue reading

Ron Paul: Liberty Was Also Attacked in Boston

"The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city. This unprecedented move should frighten us as much or more than the attack itself. What has been sadly forgotten in all the celebration of the capture of one suspect and the killing of his older brother is that the police state tactics in Boston did absolutely nothing to catch them. Actually, it very nearly gave the suspect a chance to make a getaway." Continue reading

Graham says FBI should confront people who view ‘Islamist’ websites

"Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), appearing Sunday on CBS’s 'Face the Nation,' said that he believes Americans would be made safer if Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) agents would physically confront non-criminals over their web surfing activities, especially if that person is on a watch list and has been looking at 'Islamist' sites online. He added that if someone federal agencies had received tips about 'goes on the Internet for the whole world to see, to interact with radical Islamic websites, how do we miss that?'" Continue reading

Snarling, Robotic Police in House-to-House Search

"There is no question of anyone giving on-the-spot consent to a search when an occupant is facing a dozen men with rifles and guns pointing at him or her. The reporter describes the police searches as 'terrifying', as in police terror. Such searches are non-consensual. These police have all been trained to act robotically to control the people and intimidate them. They have been programmed. They will point the guns at a woman with a baby as readily as at someone who looks like their suspect. They will make everyone obey. The reporter says that people were not allowed back into their homes but left on the street for 14-15 hours." Continue reading
