Dzhokar Tsarnaev’s Throat Wound: Another Government Lie Bites the Dust

"In May, the story changed. It was said Tsarnaev didn’t have a bullet wound in his throat, but was cut. CNN later edited out the comment about the throat wound made by police. Now we have a photo of Tsarnaev allegedly surrendering. It was taken by a Massachusetts State Police photographer. Note the absence of a throat wound in the photo. Finally, according to a former wrestling teammate interviewed by the Boston Globe, the man [pleading not guilty] in court 'didn’t look like' Tsarnaev. Moreover, the man brought into court had a thick accent and Tsarnaev does not." Continue reading

Justice Department sues Florida over ‘deliberate indifference’ in treatment of disabled children

"The U.S. Justice Department sued the state of Florida on Monday, accusing health officials of violating the Americans with Disabilities act by placing almost 200 handicapped minors in nursing homes usually used for elderly residents, Mother Jones reported. Florida is the 12th state sued by the department over alleged mistreatment of physically or mentally disabled residents in the past four years. The Miami Herald reported that while the state has increased patient care payments to $550 per day for children placed in nursing homes, lawmakers also cut $6 million from a program allowing residents to get private health care at their homes." Britain considers banning Internet pornography over ‘corroding’ influence on children

"Every household in Britain connected to the internet will be obliged to declare whether they want to maintain access to online pornography, David Cameron will announce on Monday. In the most dramatic step by the government to crack down on the 'corroding' influence of pornography on childhood, the prime minister will say that all internet users will be contacted by their service providers and given an 'unavoidable choice' on whether to use filters. The changes will be introduced by the end of next year. All police forces will work with a single secure database of illegal images of children to help 'close the net on paedophiles'." Will Globalism Invade the US via its Cities? The Daily Beast Thinks So

"In New York, an urban area as blighted and tenuous as any, infrastructure is crumbling and the only growth industry, from what we can tell, is expanding regulation. This is one of the major cities in the world but you can't buy a large-sized soft drink or enjoy an indoor cigarette, or request eggs dabbed with trans-fat. Detroit? The city is getting ready to pay bondholders pennies on the dollar. Chicago? Drudge just posted a report on the alarming rise in shootings and murders in the 'Windy City.' All major US cities are surely in disarray to some extent. How could they not be? The same recessionary trends afflicting Fedgov are active at a local, urban level as well." Continue reading

Gov’t Bureau ‘Creating a Google Earth on Every Financial Transaction,’ Senator Warns

"'This bill (creating the CFPB) was supposed to be about regulating Wall Street. Instead, it's creating a Google Earth on every financial transaction. That's right: the government will be able to see every detail of your finances. Your permission - not needed,' Sen. Enzi said. 'They can look right down to the tiny details of the time and place where you pulled cash out of an ATM,' Enzi warned. And, there's nothing you can do about, since Americans don't have the ability to 'opt out' or prohibit the government from collecting their personal financial data, Enzi said." Continue reading

Herding the Sheeple into Government-Controlled Health Care

"By enacting the dual mandates, Obamacare ostensibly was designed to ensure that its costs were borne by businesses, not taxpayers. But when the president decided to enforce only certain portions of the healthcare law and delay others, he shifted the cost of health insurance onto the backs of taxpayers. This is all on top of that private insurance premiums will rise between 20 to 60% in 2014, and some as much as 100%. How long will the private-insurance market survive with such exploding costs? People will not be able to afford such massive premium increases. That seems to be the point." Continue reading

Does Free Money Exist?

"The social credit crackpottery of the 1930s has returned, wrapped in the robes of Neo-Nazi statism. Those boosting it wrap their rhetoric in anti-banker sentiments, but make no mistake: A meme of this magnitude is a Tavistock-like promotion. These people use the rhetoric of libertarianism to arrive at terrifyingly statist conclusions. The state wiped out some 150 million people in the 20th century, and we would actually think it's a lot more. The upshot of social credit is a fascist society in which only the biggest corporations survive, in league with the government itself. And these ideas are gaining traction." Continue reading

Breakfast with Pussy Riot

"This morning I had the opportunity to meet, along with several other journalists, with two members of Russian punk collective Pussy Riot at the Washington offices of Human Rights First. They are in Washington meeting with members of congress, State Department staffers, and NGO officials. It's an odd sort of publicity tour. For security reasons, 'Fara' and 'Shaiba,' who appeared to be in their 20s, did not provide their real names, did not allow themselves to be photographed without their trademark balaclavas, and refused to discuss details about their backgrounds or travel itinerary." Fred Reed: Ain’t Nobody Gonna Like It

"Watching the Zimmerman trial, I wonder whether we may not be in for big trouble. Racial hostility is much higher in the United States than it is allowed to appear. In the Twittersphere there is much traffic from blacks, saying that if Zimmerman walks, they will kill him themselves, riot, or kill random whites. On many sites around the web, whites of a sort not found on NPR are saying, 'Bring it on.' This is not your granny’s recipe for domestic tranquility. Let’s not kid ourselves. Race underlies almost everything in this country that spends half its time denouncing racism. This is true of trials, and particularly true of show trials." Continue reading
