CNN Broadcasts Zimmerman Social Security Number

"On Monday, CNN showed George Zimmerman’s Social Security number and other personal information live over the air, including address, date of birth, and phone number. Officer Doris Singleton was testifying when the prosecutors showed a narrative report including Zimmerman’s information. That immediately launched a round of tweets by Zimmerman haters celebrating knowledge of that information. CNN has now released a statement about showing Zimmerman’s personal information: 'Routinely the evidence is first given to the Court Clerk for redaction, and that didn’t happen in this instance.'" Zimmerman Case and Chaos?

"The Zimmerman case – if it does explode into violence – is part of a much broader trend. Internationalists have always used war and violence to make a case for more and stronger global institutions that can guarantee 'peace.' Unfortunately, such rhetoric often leads to the 'peace of the grave' rather than the peace of the living. And if the Obama administration and others have now taken to using the rhetoric of racism as a way of furthering internationalist goals while distracting from the Great Recession, that would indeed be an unfortunate development. It would also explain why Obama was quick to make the remark that the victim reminded him of a son." Continue reading

The Curious Case Of Trayvon Martin’s Backpack With Stolen Jewelry and ‘Burglary Tool’

"The search of Trayvon Martin’s backpack turned up at least 12 pcs of ladies jewelry, and a man’s watch, in addition to a flat head screwdriver described as 'a burglary tool'. When Trayvon was questioned about who owned the jewelry and where it came from, he claimed he was just holding it for a 'friend'. A 'friend' he would not name. On October 21st 2011 a burglary took place a few blocks from Krop Senior High School where Trayvon Martin attended. The stolen property outlined in the Miami-Dade Police Report (PD111021-422483) matches the descriptive presented by SRO Dunn in his School Police report 2011-11477." Continue reading

Justice Department facilitated anti-Zimmerman protests

"A division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) was deployed to Sanford, Florida in 2012 to provide assistance for anti-George Zimmerman protests, including a rally headlined by activist Al Sharpton, according to newly released documents. The Community Relations Service (CRS), a unit of DOJ, reported expenses related to its deployment in Sanford to help manage protests between March and April 2012, according to documents obtained by the watchdog group Judicial Watch." Reality of Egypt – Not What You Think?

"The Muslim Brotherhood was the first choice of Western powers, from what we can tell, and was only discarded when its leadership declined to go along with a US$4 billion International Monetary Fund plan. The military, meanwhile, has been portrayed as being of one piece, but as we have pointed out previously, it may be a mistake to believe that the military is cohesively pro-Western and at the service of the Pentagon. It may be at the top, but who can speak for the rank-and-file? The social chaos and bloody destruction now being predicted for Egypt may not simply be the result of a scripted clash between the military and Islamic factions." Continue reading

Ex-IMF head Strauss-Kahn denounces treatment in U.S. rape case

"Disgraced ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn said the legal principle of being innocent until proven guilty was violated in the sex scandal that brought him down. Strauss-Kahn told CNN he was still angry with the US justice system over his treatment in 2011 when he was paraded before TV cameras in New York in handcuffs, on charges of rape that were later dropped. 'The problem is that it’s a moment where in all European, American society you are supposed to be innocent, you are supposed to be innocent until you are convicted,' he said." Continue reading

Pentagon puts 650,000 workers on unpaid leave due to cuts

"Heavy US government spending cuts took a sharp swing as the Pentagon began putting about 650,000 civilian workers on unpaid leave. The Department of Defense’s civilian employees face furloughs of up to 11 days through the end of the fiscal year on September 30. The pay pinch was expected to have the most immediate impact in areas with a large military presence, such as greater Washington DC, California and Texas. The International Monetary Fund last month assailed the sharp spending cuts as 'excessively rapid and ill-designed.'" Continue reading

US’s Man ElBaradei May Head Egypt

"So perhaps it will be ElBaradei after all ... He's been waiting in the wings and the failure of the Muslim Brotherhood's regime may now bring him to the fore. It also became clear to us over time that the West's surreptitious efforts in the Middle East were emplacing Islamic regimes. This became evident and obvious in Tunisia, The Ivory Coast, Libya, etc. But for whatever reason, Mohammed Mursi didn't work out. Now perhaps a technocrat will enter. ElBaradei is in favor of installing a US$5 billion IMF package, with its attendant austerity, according to this Reuters article. Was this the reason for Mursi's ouster? His lack of cooperation with the IMF?" Continue reading

What’s Happening in Egypt?

"Former US Ambassador and neocon John Bolton has endorsed the Egyptian coup and the insightful libertarian Lew Rockwell believes nothing good can come of it for Egyptians. Below, we ask whether this is one of the greatest diplomatic reversals for the US in modern times ... then add in our conclusion that 'we don't know.' What seems fairly certain is that the Muslim Brotherhood would not have obtained power without US backing and now they are out of power. What takes place over the next few days and weeks should clarify this tale. We hope whatever happens will benefit Egyptians, who have seen nothing but bloody turmoil and despotism for decades." Ascension of Central Banker Carney Continues to Instruct Us

"We've been chronicling the arrival of the 'most powerful' central banker of his era, the new head of the Bank of England, Mark Carney. The grand chambers in which they meet, the relentless coverage of even the most insignificant remark, the fawning photo-ops ... all contribute to an air of inevitability and 'business as usual' when it comes to the modern monetary process. What have we learned of late? That Carney took the 'tube' to work on his first day on the job and that he was an hour early. And now we learn that one of Mark Carney's very first acts is to figure out how to place an additional woman's likeness on a British bank note." Continue reading
