"John Baiata of NBC News reports with regard to the discovery of the women who were kidnapped in Cleveland and held captive for approximately 10 years. Cleveland police responded twice to the address where the 3 Ohio women were held - in 2000 and in 2004. Yet, as in Boston following the discovery of the Boston bomber by a citizen after a botched police search, the crowds cheered the police. From Reuters on the Ohio kidnap case: 'Cheers from the crowd erupted periodically as police cars entered the area.' Air Force sexual assault prevention officer arrested for fondling woman

"An officer tasked with preventing sexual assault in the U.S. Air Force has been arrested and charged with a sex crime in Arlington, local media reported. According to a crime report, Lt. Col. Jeff Krusinski — described as 'a drunken male' — allegedly approached a women around 12:35 a.m. in a parking lot, and groped her breasts and butt. The women fought him off, but Krusinski tried to grab her again. The victim did not know 41-year-old man. Police arrived at the scene and Krusinski was arrested for sexual battery. "The latest is a new government regulation that was snuck into a transportation bill, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century, aka, MAP-21. Some progress, the bill requires corporations to calculate payments into pensions based on a 25-year average on interest rates, instead of current rates. In other words, with current low rates, corporations in reality need to make larger contributions to meet pension fund growth goals. But according to new government regulations, corporations now need to calculate pension fund payments based on an interest rate earned on pension assets that can't possibly be earned." Iraq still using James McCormick’s fake bomb detectors at checkpoints

"A policeman in Baghdad knows the bomb detector he uses is fake, and will do virtually nothing to save anyone’s life, but he has his orders. 'If I were given a mop and told that it detects bombs in cars, I would still do it without any hesitation,' he told AFP, asking not to be identified. 'The device is a 100-percent failure and we know that, but it is imposed on us; we cannot disobey direct orders,' he added. James McCormick, a British businessman, made an estimated £50 million ($76 million/59 million euros) selling the 'bomb detectors,' based on a novelty golf ball finder, to Iraq and other countries. Bank of Cyprus converts portion of uninsured savings to equity

"Bank of Cyprus (BoC) said on Sunday it had carried out a conversion of uninsured cash deposits in the bank into equity, one of the conditions of international lenders to offer the cash-starved island financial aid. The process, known as a 'bail-in', made depositors in the bank pay for its recapitalisation, after the institution was hit by massive losses from its exposure to debt-crippled Greece. It converted 37.5% of deposits exceeding €100,000 on March 26, into 'class A' shares – nominal value €1 -- with an additional 22.5% held as a buffer for possible conversion in the future. Only later, did a private citizen discover him. Police originally said that Tsarnaev was captured outside the perimeter that police had set up to encircle Tsarnaev. It turns out that is a lie. SWAT team sent to home of CNN’s Wolf Blitzer

"A message sent to police in Montgomery County, Virginia on Saturday caused a SWAT team to descend upon a home owned by CNN host Wolf Blitzer, under the impression that someone at the residence had just been shot. The report turned out to not be true, and Blitzer was not home at the time. Police were already suspicious of the message when they arrived on the scene, the Post noted, having received a text message sent through a phone provider’s emergency relay service.
