Supersized IRS Will Shrink Liberty

The IRS is expected to hire approximately 87,000 new agents. Supporters of the expansion say the IRS will use the enhanced enforcement capacity to target only “the rich.” However, it is not necessary to massively increase the IRS’s enforcement capacity just to go after “rich tax cheats.”

U.S. Senate Votes to Expand the National Police State

Earlier this month, the Senate voted 95-3 on a non-binding budget resolution to fund the hiring of 100,000 police officers. The vote doesn't authorize any funding but affirms the Senate's support for including the money in the budget.

PBS News Hour Highlights “Defend the Guard” Initiative

Some state legislators have been introducing bills to ban their state from deploying National Guard units for undeclared foreign wars. To date, Defend the Guard bills have been introduced in some 30 states.
