Iowa Senate Committee Passes Bill to Legalize Limited Raw Milk Sales

The legislation would allow a raw milk producer to process, market, and distribute raw milk and raw milk products directly to a consumer from the dairy. SF315 also creates regulatory guidelines for the sale of raw milk and raw milk products.

Idaho Senate Passes Bill to Expand Raw Milk Sales in the State

the Idaho Senate passed a bill that would lift some restrictions on herd share agreements for the distribution of raw milk in the state. Passage into law would take a small step toward rejecting a federal prohibition scheme in practice and effect.

Minnesota Bill Would Expand Raw Milk Sales Despite Federal Prohibition Scheme

The legislation would allow registered producers with fewer than 12 mature cows, or 60 mature goats or sheep, to sell raw milk and raw milk products directly to the consumer from a home, a community event or farmers’ market, a retail store, to a restaurant to be served to customers, or through a donation to a community event.

Washington Bill Would Expand Raw Milk Sales, Foundation to Nullify Federal Prohibition Scheme

The legislation would exempt small farms and places where raw milk is not advertised as for sale, from a list of regulations applying to other raw milk sales – as long as they meet specific sanitary requirements. Consumers would be allowed to purchase raw milk directly from the farm, without being subject to the larger market regulatory process.
