Missouri Bills Would Legalize Retail Sale of Raw Milk

The legislation would legalize the sale of “Grade A retail raw milk or cream” produced in Missouri at grocery stores, restaurants, soda fountains, or similar establishments, as long as the milk is clearly marked with a specified warning label. “Grade A retail raw milk or cream” is defined as “raw milk or cream produced upon dairy farms conforming to sanitation and bacteriological standards that meet or exceed those of Grade A pasteurized milk.”

Now in Effect: Alaska Law Takes First Step to Legalize Raw Milk

The new law legalizes raw milk through contracts granting part ownership of livestock, commonly known as herd shares. Under the law, consumers can pay a farmer a fee for a “share” in either an individual animal or a herd of animals. In return, the consumer gets access to unpasteurized milk produced by the animals.

To the Governor: California Bill Would Allow CBD in Food Despite FDA Prohibition

The legislation would allow cannabinoids and other hemp extracts to be added to dietary supplements, food, beverages, cosmetics and pet food, despite FDA prohibition on the same. The bill declares that a dietary supplement, food, beverage, cosmetic, or pet food is not adulterated by the inclusion of industrial hemp or cannabinoids, extracts, or derivatives from industrial hemp as long as it meets state specifications.
