Congressman Holt pushes to abolish Patriot Act he voted for in 2001

"Representative Rush Holt (D-NJ) crafted new legislation that would abolish the Patriot Act, and on Thursday the congressman introduced the bill known as HR-2818 to the House that would do just that. The Surveillance State Repeal Act is aimed to undo not only the Patriot Act but also the parts of the 2008 amendment to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that gives the government the power to have backdoor access to online electronic devices. That’s because the weapon is stored inside a glass case at the Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) 'secret' museum, according to NBC News, and visitors are strictly prohibited. Homeland Security’s Future Home: A Former Mental Hospital

"Chris Mills frequently gives tours of St. Elizabeths Hospital, a former mental institution where the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is building a $4.5 billion headquarters. It’s the largest construction project in the District of Columbia since the Pentagon was completed in 1943. The project is moving slowly, even by the geologic standards of the U.S. government. It’s been plagued by delays and mounting costs. People might not even remember Napolitano when the building is completed, which might be around 2026. "Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) amendment would prohibit the use of funds pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) effective on December 31, 2014. The Bush and Obama administrations have used the AUMF as a legal justification for vast electronic surveillance and targeted drone strikes against suspected terrorists. The AUMF has also been used to deploy troops to various countries — including Ethiopia, Djibouti, Georgia, Kenya, Somalia, and Yemen — and justify indefinite detentions at Guantanamo Bay." "The heads of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday voiced their opposition to a proposal that would defund some of the National Security Agency’s domestic surveillance programs. 'The FISA business records program has contributed to disrupting numerous terrorist attacks against our nation. Dzhokar Tsarnaev’s Throat Wound: Another Government Lie Bites the Dust

"In May, the story changed. It was said Tsarnaev didn’t have a bullet wound in his throat, but was cut. CNN later edited out the comment about the throat wound made by police. Now we have a photo of Tsarnaev allegedly surrendering. It was taken by a Massachusetts State Police photographer. Note the absence of a throat wound in the photo. Finally, according to a former wrestling teammate interviewed by the Boston Globe, the man [pleading not guilty] in court 'didn’t look like' Tsarnaev.
