"Her daughter started having facial spasms and other signs of neurological damage. Maryanne discontinues the medicine. Child Protective Services gets wind of this and government enforcers come to force the mother to keep drugging her kid. When SWAT surrounded her house to confiscate her daughter, Maryanne Godboldo took a stand when the goons tried to break into her home. She held out for eight hours before the state seized her daughter. After months of expensive court battles, she finally got her daughter returned to her and the charges were dropped. Miami-Dade Police Choke Black Teenager Because He Was Giving Them “Dehumanizing Stares”

"Fourteen-year-old Tremaine McMillian didn't threaten police. He didn't attack them. He wasn't armed. All the black teenager did was appear threatening by shooting Miami-Dade police officers a few 'dehumanizing stares,' and that was apparently enough for the officers to decide to slam him against the ground and put him in a chokehold. McMillian says he was carrying a six-week old puppy at the time and couldn't have been clenching his fists because he was feeding the dog with a bottle. He claims that during the confrontation the dog's front left paw was injured. The teen was charged with a felony count of resisting arrest with violence and disorderly conduct." Continue reading

Woman Handing Out Samples at Va. Costco Shot Dead by Police

"A Sterling, Va., Costco has resumed normal business hours Thursday, less than a day after sheriff's deputies fatally shot a woman who came at officers with scissors and a knife. The melee began at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, when store employees noticed the woman acting oddly while handing out pizza samples, said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman. Deputies were called to the store to handle the disturbance. One officer tried to use a stun gun on Scott, but Chapman said the stun gun 'did not work,' and one of the deputies fatally shot her. A sheriff's deputy also was wounded in the leg, possibly by a ricochet. The only shots fired were by one of the deputies." Continue reading

Police Shoot & Kill Grandfather While Responding To False Burglar Alarm

"A 72-year-old Woodhaven resident fatally shot by police officers investigating a burglary call was pronounced dead inside his garage, the Tarrant County medical examiner said Wednesday. Police have said that two patrol officers encountered an armed Jerry Waller at the back of his house 'near the garage-driveway area.' They have not specifically said where Waller was when he was shot. But Waller’s son, Chris Waller, said in an email to the Star-Telegram that the police account of the shooting is inaccurate. 'My father never stepped outside of his garage. He was shot multiple times in the chest only a few steps away from the doorway to his kitchen,' Chris Waller said." Continue reading

Imprisoned CIA Torture Whistleblower John Kiriakou Pens “Letter from Loretto”

"Greetings from the Federal Correctional Institution at Loretto, Pennsylvania. I arrived here on February 28, 2013 to serve a 30-month sentence for violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982. At least that’s what the government wants people to believe. In truth, this is my punishment for blowing the whistle on the CIA’s illegal torture program and for telling the public that torture was official U.S. government policy. But that’s a different story. The purpose of this letter is to tell you about prison life." Continue reading

Did Senator McCain Violate NDAA by Hanging Out with Syrian Rebels?

"In fact, the same day President Obama announced our recognition of the opposition, rebel groups across Syria signed a petition pledging allegiance to the Jihad and asking America by name not to intervene. It’s hard to imagine that twelve years after 9/11, Senator McCain would be calling for US foreign and military aid be given to 'the Jihad.' Interestingly enough, this is the same Senator McCain who championed NDAA 2012, which gives our government the right to indefinitely detain Americans for doing exactly what he did: supporting elements aligned with al-Qaeda." Will Canada’s hard line on Eritrea’s ‘diaspora’ tax apply to the U.S.?

"There are only two countries in the world that levy income tax based on citizenship rather than residence; one is Eritrea and the other is the United States. But while Canada fulminates and threatens mayhem against Eritrea, it says nothing about the U.S. Even worse, it is actively negotiating with the U.S. to implement an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) that would have Canada Revenue Agency help the U.S. IRS track down its citizens in Canada and bring them into the U.S. tax fold. Could it be the power gap?" Continue reading

Texas Police Tase Overweight Asthmatic to Death in Drug Raid That Uncovers No Drugs

"On May 16th, Forth Worth police entered the home of Jarmaine Darden, 34, in search of cocaine. The raid, which does not appear to have uncovered any cocaine, ended with the 34-year-old father dead after police tased him multiple times. Family members told CBS 11 that the 350-pound man, who'd been asleep on the couch when police came in, couldn't drop to the ground on his stomach as officers commanded because he suffered from asthma. According to what witnesses told CBS 11, Darden stopped breathing and died after police tased him the second time. An investigation into the incident is underway." Continue reading

IRS targets First Caribbean International Bank thanks to ‘voluntary disclosure’ program

"A witness statement filed in support of the summons by IRS agent Cheryl Kiger details how, during her investigation into a leak of offshore data, she came across information suggesting FCIB and Barclays accounts may have been used by tax evaders. Kiger also disclosed information obtained from a programme allowing individuals who have previously evaded US tax to voluntarily disclose this information and receive less stringent penalties. She identified at least 129 such cases which had involved the use of bank accounts with FCIB 'its predecessors in the Caribbean'." Continue reading
