Military Judge Took 4 Days To Determine Torture Is Legal

"Here is a gem on page 38 from Lt Col Diane Beaver, Staff judge Advocate for the man in charge of interrogation at Guantanamo: 'Concerning the use of techniques that technically were considered torture by the UCMJ that she approved. Her excuse was that she was only given 4 days to think about it, didn’t have access to much in terms of books or research, and wanted to get something in writing.'" Continue reading

8th Grader Arrested, Suspended for NRA ‘Protect Your Right’ T-Shirt With Image of Gun

"An eighth grade student from West Virginia has been arrested, suspended and faces charges for wearing an NRA T-shirt with the image of a firearm and the words 'Protect Your Right' printed on it to school. 'I never thought it would go this far because honestly I don’t see a problem with this. There shouldn’t be a problem with this,' Marcum told WOWK-TV. Police confirmed that Marcum had been arrested and faced charges of obstruction and disturbing the education process after getting into an argument over the shirt with a teacher at Logan Middle School, which is south of Charleston." David Galland: The True Import of the Boston Bombings

"Unfortunately, what has been seriously injured – once again – is American freedom, as authorities begin unwrapping all the new homeland security powers constructed since 9/11. Just as it is impossible to predict the price of gold tomorrow, it is impossible to gauge how the government will respond, or how much collateral damage will be done. Who could have predicted, after 9/11 – an act committed by Saudis and Pakistanis – that the US would attack Iraq? What appears clear, at least to me, is that the very nature of terrorism and the invariable reaction of the nation-state being attacked set the stage for bad, bad days for liberty." Continue reading

The Boston Bombers and the FBI Connection

"'My son would never do this. It is a set-up,' the woman continued in her interview with RT. 'He was controlled by FBI for like, three, five years. They knew what my son was doing. They knew what actions and what sites on the Internet he was going. He used to come home, they used to come and talk to me. They used to tell me that, you know, that they are controlling his – they were telling me that he’s really a serious leader and they’re afraid of him. They said, they told me that whatever he is, whatever country decides, whatever is there, whatever information he’s getting, they are controlling him, so how could this happen?'" Continue reading

David Koresh’s Revenge: Waco and 20 Years of State Terror

"About once a day police kill an American, often a marginalized person like the homeless Kelly Thomas, beaten in July 2011 by five officers in Southern California, dying of complications five days later. Or they are veterans like Jose Guerena, at whom Tuscon police fired 71 rounds in the middle of the night in May 2011 – innocent of any crime, just in his own house at the wrong time. The state saves most of its killing for abroad, where killing is its very policy. And now, thanks to the war on terror, Obama calls America his battlefield and the world his jurisdiction. He has made it official doctrine that the president can order anyone’s death." Continue reading

Mob Rule in Boston

"Demonstrating that the media is just as incompetent as the authorities, reckless and breathless photos of brown-skinned and Middle Eastern-looking people plastered across the pages of the (thankfully) dying corporate print media are terrorizing innocent teens who are nevertheless pictured as 'persons of interest.' It is a mob rule mentality, fanning the flames of the lynch mob. What a horrible time to be living-while-Muslim (or appearing that way to some morons) in the New England area. As Politico points out, the corporate media no longer even plays lip service to the basics of reporting and fact-checking." Continue reading

Fedcoats & Presstitutes Exploit Americans’ Ignorance With ‘Boston Massacre’ Propaganda

At present the Boston Massacre label is being used to invoke a sort of uniting of the nation behind the increasingly unpopular federal government as against the more private form of violent criminals who seek to deprive Americans of life, liberty, and property. The Boston Massacre is a keyword that most Americans will recognize from their Revolutionary period history classes and therefore identify with in a symbolic way. However, the current promotion of the marathon bombing as some sort of a 'Boston Massacre II' is so removed from the context of the original as to strain credulity. Continue reading

People Love Being Dehumanized by the Security Apparatus

"Or so the police state's house organ, WaPo, alleges. 'Expect to see more people in uniform, a greater display of law enforcement firepower, added security in places where it had been relaxed and increased efforts to poke into backpacks and purses,' claims the dying paper paper. All this failed in Boston, of course, but it is comforting, we are told." Continue reading

Thousands of heavily armed police swarm Boston town in bombing suspect manhunt

"Thousands of heavily armed police went door-to-door through a Massachusetts town on Friday in an unprecedented massive hunt for the remaining Boston marathon bombing fugitive. Authorities halted all public bus and train services in the Boston region and told hundreds of thousands of people in several towns around Watertown to stay home in a bid to isolate the suspect. Inhabitants were ordered to remain in their homes and only answer the door if they were sure it was a police officer. More than 9,000 police, many armed with shotguns and automatic rifles, were sent to the town to find Suspect Two." Continue reading
