Disarm Subjects and Make them Spy on Each Other: New York State’s Totalitarian Formula

"Benjamin M. Wassell of Silver Creek, New York, a wounded Iraq war veteran, is the first resident of that state to be arrested and face prosecution under its draconian new firearms law. He was arrested during an undercover operation by state police in which he sold an AR-15 rifle and six large-capacity clips on January 24. Wassell has been charged with three felonies and a misdemeanor. If they have their way, New York police officials will be doing a brisk business in incarcerating innocent gun owners. The State of New York has established an anonymous tip line encouraging people to report suspected 'illegal gun owners' for a $500 reward." Continue reading

Will Grigg: “Ominous Threats” and Murderous Zeal

"That description was not applied to the masked, armor-clad Berserkers who kick down doors in the early morning or late at night and terrorize families over non-violent 'offenses.' Nor was it offered in reference to the militants who have purchased more than 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition -- much of it hollow-point rounds unsuitable for military use -- while distributing armored vehicles and other military hardware to their adherents in practically every city nation-wide. The Times didn't direct that rhetorical salvo at the people who are openly discussing plans to fill America's skies with robot planes that can -- and will -- be used as weapons platforms." O’Malley will also have the option of commuting the sentences of the state’s five inmates currently on death row to life in prison." Continue reading

Man’s Home Raided After Son’s Facebook Picture Shows Gun

"After seeing a photo of an 11-year-old boy holding a rifle on Facebook (photo shown cropped at right), New Jersey police and Department of Children and Families officials raided the home of the boy’s father, Shawn Moore, a firearms instructor. Moore was not arrested or charged, but immediately sought the counsel of his lawyer. Moore is a certified firearms instructor for the National Rifle Association, an NRA range safety officer, and a New Jersey hunter education instructor. He posted a photograph of his son wearing camouflage and holding his .22 rifle. The boy has a New Jersey hunting license and has passed the state’s hunter safety course." Continue reading

LAPD Brutality Continues: 54 People Shot & Killed In 2011

"In the aftermath of the Christopher Dorner manhunt, the LAPD exposed some of the ugly skeletons it has been trying to hide in its closet. While Los Angeles police claim to have left their historically, corrupt and brutish police tactics behind, the shooting of innocent civilians during the search for Dorner, has shown that the department has changed very little." Child-Snatchers and Gun-Grabbers Unite

"The investigators were demanding access to the family’s gun safe to see if all of their firearms were registered. At one point the child 'safety' bureaucrats threatened to seize Moore’s children. He demanded to see a search warrant, and when none was produced, he ordered the investigators to leave. The visit apparently followed an anonymous tip prompted by a Facebook photo of Moore’s 11-year-old son Josh, who is holding a .22-caliber rifle he had received as a birthday present. The rifle’s cosmetic features make it resemble one of those dreaded 'assault weapons' that cause Diane Feinstein to twist her Gorgon features into a grimace of pious disapproval." Continue reading

Michigan governor appoints technocrat to run Detroit

"Michigan Governor Rick Snyder tapped a restructuring expert who helped successfully steer Chrysler through a government-backed bankruptcy to lead a state takeover of Detroit. The move by a white, Republican governor to take control of a predominantly black and Democratic city has drawn intense criticism and charges of racism. The choice of Kevyn Orr, an African American and Democrat who grew up in Michigan, should help stem some of that criticism. Emergency managers have the power to eliminate entire departments, change labor contracts, sell city assets and rewrite laws without any public review or input." Continue reading
