Nato commander apologises after troops shoot dead Afghan children

"The area, Lowar-e-Dowahom, was often patrolled by international troops, a spokesman said. 'They saw two young children who were apparently listening to a radio and they shot them – it is not yet clear why,' the spokesman said. Australian forces deployed in Uruzgan said earlier there had been an 'operational incident' in the province's northwest but gave no details except that no soldiers were harmed. On 13 February a Nato air strike requested by Afghan forces killed 10 people – including five children and four women – in the eastern province of Kunar, prompting Karzai to ban his troops from requesting foreign air strikes." One Man’s Terrorist

"In honor of the release of the long-delayed 'Red Dawn' remake, Buck The System is proud to present a new, leaner cut of 'One Man's Terrorist' that presents the film as one complete story instead of 3 episodes. 'One Man's Terrorist' is an anti-war short film written and directed by David Kirk West and loosely inspired by events that changed his beliefs on war and government while he was in the military." US Congress: ‘Fight Terrorism, Arm The Terrorists!’

"What, one might ask, is a US House member, who strongly and passionately supports the State of Israel doing introducing legislation that would result in a gusher of arms flowing to 'the fastest-growing al Qaeda front in the world, attracting fighters from across the Islamic world.'? Does it make sense? What will Mr. Engel then propose when the bearded radicals finally overthrow the secular Assad and install Sharia rule in Syria? Does Mr. Engel support Sharia? Or will such a worse turn of events help ignite passions in the US for yet more military action in the Middle East?" Continue reading

Washington Hypocrisy Skyrockets, Credibility Plummets

"Obama supports a UN treaty on what a US official terms 'illicit arms trafficking and proliferation'. At the same time, the US and ally Saudi Arabia are sending heavier arms into Syria. These shipments and their past interference in Syria violate the UN charter to which they solemnly pledged to adhere. The US is not alone in these and other violations in Syria and other countries. If Washington routinely violates its own Constitution, it is to be expected that it can and will violate any agreement it makes. Hypocrites cannot lead on any issues, not when they have no credibility. They can exercise power, but they cannot lead." Continue reading

Defense industry consultants advise Arab nations on crowd control products

"Defence experts who say many lives could have been saved during Arab uprisings if states used proper crowd control measures sought to tap into a growing market at an Abu Dhabi arms fair. Anti-riot vehicles with sophisticated acoustic repellents have boldly taken their place alongside the likes of Eurofighter’s Typhoon warplane and the bristling firepower of rocket launchers at the arms industry’s biennial quest for petrodollars in the Gulf emirate." Opponents vote to shoot Egypt’s president Morsi into space

"Opponents of Egypt’s President Mohamed Morsi are voting to send him where no Islamist leader has gone before: outer space. Morsi on Saturday was leading the field in Egypt in an online contest sponsored by deodorant makers Axe to send a lucky few on a shuttle operated by space tourism company Space Expedition Corp. Egypt’s opposition movement April 6 entered Morsi into the competition. 'With God’s help, and under His care, Morsi will soon be launched to the moon,' the group said on its Facebook page, along with a picture of the president in a spacesuit." Continue reading

Afghan president: U.S. special forces creating ‘insecurity and instability’

"Afghan President Hamid Karzai demanded Sunday the withdrawal of US special forces from Wardak within two weeks, accusing them of fuelling 'insecurity and instability' in the volatile province neighbouring the capital Kabul. 'In today’s national security council meeting… President Karzai ordered the ministry of defence to kick out the US special forces from Wardak province within two weeks,' said presidential spokesman Aimal Faizi. 'The US special forces and illegal armed groups created by them are causing insecurity, instability, and harass local people in this province,' he told a press conference." Continue reading

Carnage in Syria Courtesy of US Allies

"While the US and its Western partners pretend to be engaged in a global war against terrorism, their terrorist allies in Syria have set off another car bomb, tellingly very close to the ruling Baath party offices and the Russian embassy. Initial reports are that more than 50 have been killed by the terrorists, including many children attending a nearby school. No doubt this bombing against a government building will be blamed on the Syrian government in the Western media, adding to the phony UN body count. The UN organization that is responsible for compiling the 'body count' in Syria is...surprise...funded by the US State Department!" Continue reading

Paul Craig Roberts: Obama’s Expanding Kill List

"If the Obama regime is on the side of the government, as in Algeria, it will kill the rebels opposing the government. If the Obama regime is on the side of the rebels, as in Libya, it will kill the government’s leaders. Whether Washington sends a drone to murder Putin and the president of China remains to be seen. The elasticity of the Kill List and its easy expansion makes it certain that Washington will be involved in extra-judicial executions of those 'associated with terrorism' over much of the world. Americans themselves should be alarmed, because the term 'association with terrorism' is very elastic." Continue reading
