Glenn Beck’s big rally at the Lincoln Memorial a couple days ago is the talk of the news media and the internet. Liberals are denouncing it, conservatives are walking on air, while tens of millions of people are completely mystified. And with good reason -- if Seinfeld was a show about nothing, this massive gathering was a rally about nothing. And while it may have looked impressive, in reality it shows just how impotent and adrift the mainstream conservative movement has become.

Crystal Clarity: Conservatism vs Libertarianism

The TeaParty originally began in 2008 by the Presidential Candidate Ronald Paul of Texas. His supporter, crafty and creative decided to perform a mock Tea Party by throwing boxes over the side of a ship. The boxes represented the Federal Reserve System, Foreign Wars Abroad etc. Soon after that the Ron Paul Revolution marched on Washington D.C. Naturally the news outlets did not cover the event. But for the supporters of Ron Paul, seeing the thousands of marchers on D.C. proudly waving the flags of freedom and liberty was a grand moment in time.

Astronomers are predicting that a massive solar storm, much bigger in potential than the one that caused spectacular light shows on Earth earlier this month, is to strike our planet in 2012 with a force of 100 million hydrogen bombs. Several US media outlets have reported that NASA was warning the massive flare this month was just a precursor to a massive solar storm building that had the potential to wipe out the entire planet's power grid.

It ultimately became part of American constitutional law as well, but you'd never know it listening to jury instructions today almost anywhere in the country. With only a few exceptions, juries are explicitly or implicitly told to worry only about the facts and let the judge decide the law.
