2 FBI Agents Involved in Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s Arrest Killed During ‘Training Exercise’

"According to a statement from the FBI, two FBI special agents were killed last Friday during a training exercise off the coast of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Special Agent Christopher Lorek and Special Agent Stephen Shaw were members of the FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team, part of the Critical Incident Response Group based at Quantico, Virginia. The cause of the incident is under review, the FBI said. Prison Planet reports that last month, the team was involved in the arrest of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. People surrounding the Tsarnaev brothers are dying at a faster than rate those who were somehow connected to the JFK assassination." Continue reading

The Grand Jury: An Affront to Liberty and a Political Prisoner Machine

"On Tuesday, May 21, 2013, anarchist lawyer and activist Gerald 'Jerry' Koch was taken into custody in New York City for refusing to testify before a grand jury regarding the 2008 Times Square Military Recruitment Center bombing. This is the second time Koch has been subpoenaed, after the government informed his lawyers that it was believed that he was at a bar in 2008 or 2009 where a patron indicated knowledge of who had committed the bombing. Koch, who has a record of defending Occupiers and activists, faces 18 months behind bars." Continue reading

Governor Kills Funding For Florida Snitch Program

"Florida Governor Rick Scott has killed funding for a controversial 'violence prevention program' in Florida which caused a public backlash after the Sheriff’s office in Palm Beach County encouraged people to report on their neighbors for anti-government rhetoric. The program would have created a 24 hour hotline via which citizens could report 'suspicious behavior,” prompting “a knock on the door and a referral to services' by specially trained deputies and mental health caseworkers. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stoked anger when he suggested the program would be used to target political free speech deemed potentially violent by authorities." Continue reading

The reality is Americans aren’t that concerned about drones

"Support for the drone program varies across demographic and political groups about like you’d expect. Across pretty much all polling, Republicans, by about 10pts, are more likely to support drone use in general than Democrats, though majorities of both parties support it. Men are more likely to favor it than women, by anywhere from 7pts to 20pts. Again, however, more women favor the drone program in general than oppose it. Why are Democrats and women more likely to oppose drone usage? It’s not because of the program’s murky legality. Americans’ number one worry is that the program endangers civilian lives." U.S. Acknowledges Killing 4 Americans in Drone Strikes

"The Obama administration on Wednesday formally acknowledged that the U.S. had killed four American citizens in drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan. The letter also said that the United States had killed three other Americans: Samir Khan, who was killed in the same strike; Mr. Awlaki’s son Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, who was also killed in Yemen; and Jude Mohammed, who was killed in a strike in Pakistan." AP: Sources Aren’t Talking To Us Out Of Fear Of US Government Spying

"Speaking on CBS's Face the Nation, Pruitt, AP's president and chief executive officer, said the government's seizure of the phone records was 'unconstitutional' and was already clearly harming the press's ability to do its job. 'We are already seeing some impact. Already officials that would normally talk to us and people we talk to in the normal course of newsgathering are already saying to us that they are a little reluctant to talk to us. They fear that they will be monitored by the government. We are already seeing that. It's not hypothetical,' said Pruitt." Continue reading
