Minnesota Bill Would Limit Participation in Federal Police Militarization Program
The legislation would prohibit state and local law enforcement agencies in Minnesota from acquiring “military-grade weapons” from the federal 1033 program. HF1297 defines military-grade weapons as “militarily equipped vehicles and aircraft, weapons and other objects designed to primarily have a military purpose or offensive capability, and ammunition.”
