Lawsuit claims police forcibly interrogated schoolboy

"Travis alleges that on Jan. 28, 2011, her son was removed from his classroom at Harrison Elementary School by two local police officers, Detective Phil Beach and officer Scott Shepard. The boy was taken to the principal’s office and interrogated about a sex offense that the boy was suspected of committing. Travis says in the lawsuit that she had previously told the school district it was not to allow her son to be interviewed by police without her being present. Travis also says the officers did not have a warrant, did not have a counselor or attorney present for the boy and did not advise him of his constitutional rights. "Thousands of Florida students are arrested in school each year and taken to jail for behavior that once warranted a trip to the principal's office — a trend that troubles juvenile-justice and civil-rights leaders who say children are being traumatized for noncriminal acts. Sixty-seven percent of the school arrests last year were for misdemeanors such as disorderly conduct — a catchall, attorneys say, that has been used when children refused to take a cellphone out of a pocket or yelled in class. Ron Paul says government is preparing for civil unrest

"The 'Champion of Liberty' himself has admitted that the government is fully aware of the potential for civil unrest in the United States and is even preparing for it. Ron Paul commented on the 'domestic arms race' and the government's obvious preparation for civil unrest by suggesting that '[the government] does not know that in two months from now there's riots in the streets, but they know that there could be.' Paul went on to explain that he does not believe the government necessarily believes that civil unrest in America is a certainty but that the elites at all levels of power are making preparations in order to retain their power." Texas bans shooting immigrants from helicopters

"Officials in Texas announced on Thursday that State Troopers would no longer be allowed to open fire on suspects from helicopters after the recent killing of two immigrants. While announcing the new policy, Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw insisted that the ban on aerial shootings had nothing to do with the October 2012 death of two Guatemalan immigrants, who were gunned down by troopers in helicopter while they were hiding in the back of a speeding pickup truck near La Joya." "The latest development in 4th Amendment violations is the scariest I've heard yet. The Department of the Fatherland has approved a policy which states in no uncertain terms that electronic devices can be seized without a warrant within 100 miles of the border. The kicker? The 'border', according to this policy, is any national barrier, political or physical. THIS INCLUDES BODIES OF WATER. Drones patrolling U.S. borders spark controversy over privacy

"Intended to protect the borders from illegal crossings and the import of illegal drugs, ten drones flown by U.S. Customs and Border Protection have also sparked a controversy over privacy. The plane are piloted remotely and their images are reviewed in real time by agents at Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona. The data is used to help direct agents on the ground or in a helicopter to make a bust. 'The fact we can turn the lights off, we are almost stealth,' said director of Air Operations Dave Gasho.
