Under the proposed law, “A person or public entity acting under color of law who subjects or causes to be subjected any other person to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the federal or state Constitution or laws, is liable to the injured party for legal or equitable relief or any other appropriate relief.”

Supreme Court Effectively Grants Absolute Immunity to Federal Cops

With these recent SCOTUS decisions (or non-decisions) the Court has now created nearly impenetrable absolute immunity for federal agents. It's probably only a matter of time before we see similar immunity afforded state and local cops.
