Federal Regulation of Electric Power and the Commerce Clause

While the federal government has some authority to regulate electricity flowing across state lines under the commerce clause, the federal government has seized much more power than it was legitimately delegated. As I reported earlier, on Sept. 28, 2017, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry proposed a new rulemaking to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).…

Podcast: Rick Perry’s Great Big 180

In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I talk about Rick Perry’s giant 180. When former Texas Gov. Rick Perry was running for president, he famously failed to remember which departments he would eliminate from the federal government. But he did name two. One of them was the Department of Energy. Perry has launched similar advertisements in Missouri, California, Chicago and New York since April. Earlier this year, Perry invited Beretta and other Maryland gun manufacturers to move to Texas after the General Assembly passed new gun laws here." Continue reading

There is one candidate who won’t have those problems. Ron Paul.
