Funny how spending a generation of not teaching what America is about will produce a generation that...has no real idea what America is all about. In addition to teaching the basics of American history in schools, the heritage of the country was once considered proper subject matter for TV, even in prime time.
The phrase “bread and circuses” originated in ancient Rome and a chilling description of the current state of our nation. It's patently clear, when you look at our burgeoning national debt, that the plebs know, of a certainty, that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the American body politic cannot stop them.
