Four More Years of Uncertainty

"The 2012 elections mercifully are over, but we Americans find ourselves right back where we were. America remains a bitterly divided nation with roughly equal numbers on both sides. President Obama, narrowly re-elected, can hardly claim a mandate based on the popular vote. The U.S. Senate remains in the hands of partisan Democrats led by the charlatan Harry Reid. And the House of Representatives is still in conservative Republican control. I think the election results demonstrate that American voters, whether they collectively realize it or not, have guaranteed a continuation of the national mood of entrenched political animosity." The Winner of the Election: George W. Bush

"Both Obama and Romney have adopted the worst elements of the Bush agenda: perpetual and preventative wars, punitive trade sanctions, violations of traditional civil liberties, warrantless surveillance, extrajudicial detentions, regressive credit expansion, the revolving door between the White House and Wall Street, increases in domestic spending in the name of free enterprise, cronyism and national regimentation in the name of social welfare, regulatory expansion, deficit-based anti-recession measures, bailouts of banks and other major corporations, and colluding with special interests over major decisions behind closed doors." Voters Interviewed at Gun Point, Realize the Shocking Facts of Their Political Views

"Do you have a choice not to pay Government programs you don’t like? If you have to pay for things you don’t want, are you free? Obama, Romney, it makes no difference. How do you feel about that? Chris Writing asks people on the street." Continue reading

Could Obama use NDAA To Arrest Militias?

"The Obama Administration never clarified what constitutes a (belligerent); or militant; or what belligerent activities (directly aligned with a militant) to order a belligerent’s arrest or indefinite detention; or what is against the good of America. Under vague provisions of NDAA, the President could accuse anyone of being (directly aligned with militants by way of any political or other association; activity, statement, writing or communication with an individual or group government deemed (militant) to arrest and indefinitely detain Americans." A Lesson in Empire Building: The Use of “Foreign Aid”

"It's one thing to hear, or read about, the staggering number of U.S. dollars that get doled out to foreign nations. It's another to actually see it visually on a map. As you can see, with very few exceptions, just about every single nation in the world receives U.S. taxpayer money. How can this be? How can a nation that is $16 Trillion in debt possibly hand out even a dime? Imagine going up to the average college kid with a student loan debt of $26,600 and asking him/her for a large amount of money. They'd look at you like you were crazy." Continue reading

Bernard von NotHaus: ‘Rosa Parks’ of the Dollar

"He was convicted more than a year and a half ago of 'counterfeiting,' because he issued silver coins, which he called 'Liberty dollars,' and sold them at a price much lower than they would command in United States currency [today]. The case throws into sharp relief an astonishing irony — that a man who issued money that has sharply appreciated in value is facing the rest of his life in prison while the officials who issue the official Federal Reserve Notes, the value of which has in four years plunged in half, to less than a 1,750th of an ounce of gold, are walking around free." Wary Swiss Banks Shun Americans

"The new law, expected to be phased in over several years, requires foreign banks to identify Americans among their clients and to provide their financial information to the Internal Revenue Service. Just one person overlooked could mean a penalty equivalent to 30% of a bank's U.S. income. Most banks in Switzerland have little appetite to deal with such risk and are quietly—or openly—ushering American clients out or limiting the range of products offered to them, tax experts and bankers say." Lew Rockwell explains how the Federal Reserve Enables War, Empire, and Destroys the Middle Class

"The accused Federal Reserve bomb plotter's home country wants details on his case. While this may make headlines, we ask Lew Rockwell of the Ludwig Von Mises Institute about one aspect of the Federal Reserve that has not made front page news: how the Fed, with its printing press, may be making war easier. After all, if the people of the United States were asked to write a check every year to the IRS in order to fund the exploding deficits and rising interest payments on the national debt, would they continue to support all these wars? Randolph Bourne may have famously quipped that 'war is the health of the state,' but it isn't the health of the economy, this is for certain." Continue reading

More Greek firms eye low-tax Switzerland

"The Swiss fiscal policy has infuriated Brussels, as the European Union sees businesses fleeing EU countries to the tax haven of Switzerland. According to Swiss laws, foreign firms which set up in the country pay €51 billions ($66 billion) less in taxes per year than Swiss companies, said a Swiss television report. Setting an ultimatum, Brussels has given Switzerland until December 13th, when a European summit is held, to present a programme aimed at dismantling such privileges which are judged discriminatory and anti-competitive." Another Obama Executive Order Allows Seizure of Americans’ Bank Accounts

"If an individual is declared by the president, the secretary of state, or the secretary of the treasury to be a 'sanctioned person,' he (or she) will be unable to obtain access to his accounts, will be unable to process any loans (or make them), or move them to any other financial institution inside or outside the United States. The EO expands its authority by making him unable to use any third party such as 'a partnership, association, trust, joint venture, corporation, subgroup or other organization' that might wish to help him or allow him to obtain access to his funds. If the individual so 'sanctioned' decides that the ruling is unfair, he isn't allowed to sue." Continue reading
