Govt wants all cars to track driver behavior, seatbelt usage and more

"Most people are unaware that newer vehicles already contain these event data recorders, which are a continuous feed of information, recorded by sensors. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that 96 percent of 2013 model cars already house these black boxes. Private security expert Steve Rambam believes law enforcement agencies might seek to cut costs and save resources by monitoring driver data from discreet locations. Monsanto unapproved GMO wheat was in Colorado government storage facility until 2011

"Monsanto Co’s unapproved, experimental genetically engineered wheat, which is feared to have potentially contaminated U.S. wheat supplies after it was found growing in an Oregon field this spring, was kept in a U.S. government storage facility until at least late 2011, according to documents obtained by Reuters. The revelation that the seed for the controversial genetically engineered wheat was kept viable in a Colorado storage facility as recently as a year and a half ago comes as the U.S. government is investigating how the strain of experimental wheat wound up growing in an Oregon field this spring." Cop indicted for aggravated assault at McDonald’s drive-through

"According to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s report, Biumi was upset about how long the order from the truck in front of him was taking. He then pointed a handgun at one teen's head and yelled 'you don't know who you are [dealing] with,' according to the report. He then withdrew his gun, got back in his Impala and drove away without getting his order of two hamburgers and a small fries. Sheriff’s investigators determined the suspect was a law enforcement officer based on the man’s actions as reported by witnesses and captured on the restaurant surveillance video. The teens in the truck also reported a tag number on the Impala, which matched a police-issued vehicle." Continue reading →

"Federal prosecutors say 13 female correctional officers, seven inmates and five others with gang ties have been charged with plotting to smuggle drugs, cellphones and other contraband into the Baltimore jail and other corrections facilities. An indictment unsealed Tuesday said the ring also involved sex between inmates and guards that led to four of the officers becoming pregnant by Tavon White, leader of a jailhouse gang called the Black Guerrilla Family. Judge’s Handyman Cops Plea in Georgia Sex, Drugs, Frame-Up

"Ex-Murray County Chief Magistrate Judge Bryant Cochran allegedly attempted to have local woman Angela Garmley framed on bogus drug charges after she accused him of seeking sexual favors in return for helping her in a pending court case. Two Murray County sheriff's deputies have already pleaded guilty to participating in the frame job, which consisted of a handyman employed by the judge hiding methamphetamine on Garmley's vehicle and her subsequent arrest by a deputy alerted to be on the lookout for her vehicle by a sheriff's captain who just happened to be the judge's cousin. "A court ruled in May that a dash-cam video made by Claremore police of a DUI arrest in 2011 contains facts concerning the arrest and is public under the state Open Records Act. The city of Claremore has petitioned the Oklahoma Supreme Court, asking it to review the decision. 'I'm not trying to be coy or provide a lack of transparency,' Claremore Police Chief Stan Brown said in a telephone interview. 'I base my administration on my mission statement, which includes accountability. I want us to be accountable. But I'm not just accountable to the people that request the information.
