On this episode of Tenther Tuesday, Mike Maharrey and Michael Boldin talk about a few of big wins for the nullification movement.
In California, Gov. Jerry Brown recently signed asset forfeiture reform into law, closing a loophole that allowed police to circumvent more restrictive state forfeiture laws by passing cases of to the feds. A new Connecticut “Right to Try” law went into effect, setting the foundation to nullify in practice some Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rules that deny access to experimental treatments by terminally ill patients. And in Vermont, a new law limiting drone, stingray and data collection surveillance just went into effect. Boldin and Maharrey also talk about nullification at the local level, as more communities reject HUD funding and the federal strings attached to it.
