Who’s in charge of the spill incident in the Gulf? Nobody?

Not even our Nobel Prize-winning President?

After weeks of discussion dithering trying to angle the spill for political gain, Obama decides that the best answer to dealing with the oil flowing from the Deepwater Horizon incident is to loose the hounds of hell (read BatBoy Waxman).

Well Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal had enough, and eight days ago ordered barges to begin sucking oil off the Louisiana coasts on his own, in addition to other actions such as building sand berms that he couldn’t get Federal approval for.

A caller to Rush’s show today during the third hour warned Limbaugh that the Coast Guard had “ordered the skimmers to stop working” on the spill cleanup, a fact which by the end of the following commercial break Rush’s crew was unable to verify.

Apparently to the dismay of Governor Jindal, the US Coast Guard did in fact order the work stoppage. Why?

the Coast Guard ordered the stoppage because of reasons that Jindal found frustrating. The Coast Guard needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board, and then it had trouble contacting the people who built the barges.

As if the barges were tour boats, they were shut down due to bureaucratic incompetence.

Is it “beginning” to look like somebody in the Obama Administration, someone rather high up, wants the spill to get worse?

Or is nobody in charge?
