Second California Assembly Committee Passes Bill to Restrict Geofence Location Tracking

The legislation would prohibit any government entity from seeking, or any court from enforcing, assisting, or supporting, a reverse keyword or reverse location demand issued by a government entity or court in California or any other state. The bill would also prohibit a person or California entity from complying with a reverse keyword or reverse location demand. Any information gathered in violation of the law would be inadmissible in court.

To the Governor: Iowa Passes Bill to Legalize Limited Raw Milk Sales

On Monday, the Iowa Senate gave final approval to a bill that would legalize the limited sale of raw milk and raw milk products in the state. Enactment of this bill would not only start to open Iowa’s raw milk market; it would take a step toward nullifying a federal prohibition scheme in practice and effect.

Signed as Law: Mississippi Prohibits Credit Card Tracking Codes on Firearms Purchases

Titled the Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act, the law prohibits a financial institution or its agent from requiring the usage of a firearms code in a way that distinguishes a firearms retailer physically located in the state of Mississippi from general merchandise retailers or sporting goods retailers.
