We usually send our Annual Buy Michigan Issue earlier in the season but a “lame duck” this year caused the delay.
However, these Michigan business may be patronized year round not just during Christmas. Buying Michigan not only helps our economy but also helps our fellow Michigan business owners
But before we get to our list a couple of things…
1. A Word about Charities
Many Michiganders give generously this time of year and year round. We believe it’s best to give locally however before you give please visit this site, Charity Navigator, “charity ratings have enabled millions of donors to access relevant information before they make a donation.”
For those wishing to donate or mail condolences to those families affected by the horrific tragedy at Sandy Hook school in Connecticut:
Donors may contribute to a victims’ family fund through a collaborative effort between The United Way and Newtown Savings Bank.
Donations can be sent to:
Sandy Hook School Support Fund
c/o Newtown Savings Banks
39 Main Street
Newtown, CT 06470
Also, the U.S. Postal Service has created a place for people to mail their condolences to those affected by the Sandy Hook shooting:
P.O. Box 3700, Newtown, CT, 06470
2. Business We Suggest NOT to Patronize
UPS promised to end its charitable donations to the Scouts “until gay Scout leaders are welcome within the organization.” UPS was also recently sued by the EEOC for Religious Discrimination
We suggest using FEDEX
Joan,
The email address used to send this information here belongs to a person no longer employed here. I’ve asked once already that you stop sending emails to this address and I’m asking again. Administratively, I’m sure you can handle that if you focus.
Substantively, the information you’re attempting to disseminate is aiding and abetting the destruction of the republican party and reducing it to minority status– where it belongs. Personally, I thank you for taking part in this movement.
The Democratic Party is tremendously more representative of the what the majority of Americans want our country to be.
Stop the emails!
