Are you registered to vote?
We hope to have the time to add additional helpful information here regarding the upcoming Primary on Tuesday, May 11, but for now, we’d like to provide information about the last minute ability to register at several locations in Lancaster County IN PERSON – THROUGH MAY 3.
The Lancaster County Election Commissioner has a list of those locations HERE.
The Election Commissioner’s website has a great deal of information about the important dates this year, for example, so it’s definitely worth a look.
You could help impact the outcome by, of course, voting yourself, but why not consider doing a bit of “mission work” and encouraging others who you may know that are for limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, and state sovereignty? Let them know they have through Monday to get registered.
Are you informed?
While we’ve often been irritated by the Lincoln Journal Star, when they do a decent or even a good job, we won’t have any problem saying so. There have been Q & A’s with candidates for all sorts of Nebraska races appearing regularly for the past couple of weeks. If you visit THIS link, you can see the archive of them all, listed as Voter’s Guides. The questions are straight forward, and the candidates’ answers listed in full. They are informative.
Another issue which the Lincoln Journal Star has been providing a lot of coverage about is the City of Lincoln Arena bond issue. Coverage by Deena Winter in particular has been very thorough and truth-seeking. If reviewing the Voter’s Guides, it is worth a look at these articles if you live in Lincoln. You can search with “arena” or Winter’s name. LJS has also been printing a wide variety of Letters to the Editor on the subject, including THIS one by a UNL student which is very well done and on point.
TAKING IT FURTHER
Making sure one is registered and informed on voting are of course, very important, and if we could just get more folks to follow through on those activities, we may not be in so much trouble as a country. But, considering the depth of our problems, it is not enough. We need more people involved beyond this.
