San Diego, CA–Officials in San Diego are asking for the public’s assistance in seeking members of a liberal eco-terrorist group accused of allegedly lighting multiple fires across Southern California with the intent of raising awareness of Global Warming. One arrest has been made, and authorities are seeking information on other individuals who may be involved.
The group, known as the CCC (or Climate Change Coalition), consists of around 50 members (exact numbers are difficult to obtain due to the nature of the group) and advocates the “promotion of climate science and the theory of manmade climate change by any means necessary.”
Before moving onto arson, the group had been involved in minor crimes ranging from trespassing, harassment, vandalism, petty theft, battery, etc, but have taken a major step with their latest actions. Questions regarding the funding of CCC remain unanswered but could include much larger Liberal groups such as PETA, ACLU and Greenpeace through “Shadow Groups” that work around federal guidelines to funnel money to splinter groups that promote their interests. These groups have taken up guerrilla warfare tactics and appear to be fairly savvy with avoiding media attention for themselves while highlighting their message.
Questionable science behind “studies” released on the subject have created a divide amongst Americans and has caused a rise in similar groups.
Former Police Chief Daniel Bradley, a 45 year veteran of the Salt Lake City Police Department, spoke with Anna Spellman on local affiliate Fox5, “these splinter cells, similar to terrorists we see oversees, are able to operate in very small groups and carry out a message from a much larger organization with very little communication. The SDPD is working closely with the FBI and have the resources needed to track down these alleged arsonists.”
Wildfires have been raging across Southern California due to three straight years of catastrophic droughts, coupled with high winds and unseasonably warmer temperatures. Firefighters in San Diego County are battling multiple fires that have consumed some 31 square miles. Evacuation notices were sent out to 176,000 residents.
If you have information that would be helpful in capturing these individuals, please contact the San Diego Police Department.
