"An eighth grade student from West Virginia has been arrested, suspended and faces charges for wearing an NRA T-shirt with the image of a firearm and the words 'Protect Your Right' printed on it to school. 'I never thought it would go this far because honestly I don’t see a problem with this. There shouldn’t be a problem with this,' Marcum told WOWK-TV. Police confirmed that Marcum had been arrested and faced charges of obstruction and disturbing the education process after getting into an argument over the shirt with a teacher at Logan Middle School, which is south of Charleston." "US Secretary of State John Kerry Thursday dismissed a set of pre-conditions laid out by North Korea for talks as 'unacceptable,' calling them an opening 'gambit' from Pyongyang. The isolated North on Thursday responded for the first time to an offer from Kerry during his weekend visit to the Korean peninsula to return to the negotiating table in a bid to defuse heightened nuclear tensions. Iraq executes 21 men in one day on ‘terror’ charges

"Iraq put 21 men to death on Tuesday, a senior justice ministry official told AFP, the latest in a series of mass executions that have drawn international condemnation. All of the men were Iraqis and had been convicted on anti-terror charges, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The latest executions brought to 50 the number of times Baghdad has carried out the death penalty so far this year, despite widespread calls for a moratorium on the country’s use of capital punishment. Baghdad cafe bombing kills 27 ahead of elections

"The bombing comes ahead of provincial elections on Saturday in which an estimated 13.8 million Iraqis are eligible to vote for more than 8,000 candidates, with 378 seats being contested. Diplomats have raised questions over the credibility of the vote, however, as a spike in violence has left at least 14 candidates dead and a third of the country’s provinces are not even taking part, including two where authorities say security cannot be guaranteed. Kerry blames Iran for attack on Iraq camp

"US Secretary of State John Kerry blamed the Iranian government for a deadly attack on an opposition camp in Iraq, and voiced fears of another assault. 'We are deeply engaged in this. I am very concerned about the potential of another attack,' Kerry told US lawmakers when asked about the February attack on a camp housing members of an exiled Iranian dissident group, the MEK. The People’s Mujahedeen of Iran (MEK) has accused Tehran of being behind the rocket and mortar attack on Camp Liberty, a former US military base near Baghdad housing about 3,000 members of the MEK, in which seven people died." Thousands of heavily armed police swarm Boston town in bombing suspect manhunt

"Thousands of heavily armed police went door-to-door through a Massachusetts town on Friday in an unprecedented massive hunt for the remaining Boston marathon bombing fugitive. Authorities halted all public bus and train services in the Boston region and told hundreds of thousands of people in several towns around Watertown to stay home in a bid to isolate the suspect. Inhabitants were ordered to remain in their homes and only answer the door if they were sure it was a police officer. "Police following up on drunk driving investigations will no longer be able to draw their suspect’s blood without a court order authorizing the search, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday. In a 5-4 decision, with Justices Sonya Sotomayor, Antonin Scalia, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Anthony Kennedy and Elena Kagan making up the majority, the court ruled that the natural expiration of alcohol in the bloodstream does not constitute 'destruction of evidence,' which would otherwise give officers cause for a warrantless search." FoxConn will pay Microsoft royalties to produce Android, Chrome phones and televisions

"Taiwan tech giant Hon Hai, parent company of FoxConn, will pay royalties to Microsoft to ward off a lawsuit over its production of devices using rival Google’s Android and Chrome platforms. The licensing agreement protects Hon Hai from claims that the cell phones and televisions it produces and which use Android and Chrome infringe on Microsoft’s patented technology. The Taiwanese company is the world’s largest contract electronics maker and assembles products for Apple, Sony and Nokia, among others, in huge plants in China where it employs more than one million workers."
