Mississippi Bill Would Restrict “No-Knock” Warrants

The legislation would require police serving a search or arrest warrant to “give appropriate notice of the identity, authority and purpose of the officer to the person to be searched or arrested, or to the person in apparent control of the premises to be searched.”

Killer Robot Plan Killed. For Now.

After initially approving a new plan to allow police robots to be armed with lethal force, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors faced such a severe public backlash that they actually reversed course and banned the practice, at least for now. But the plan only came to light due to a 10th Amendment law passed in 2021 addressing the unconstitutional federal militarization of local police.

Texas Bill Would Ban “No-Knock” Warrants

The legislation would ban Texas judges from issuing warrants allowing “no-knock” entry. The bill defines “no-knock entry” as “a peace officer’s entry, for the purpose of executing a warrant, into a building or other place without giving notice of the officer’s authority or purpose before entering.”

U.S. Senate Votes to Expand the National Police State

Earlier this month, the Senate voted 95-3 on a non-binding budget resolution to fund the hiring of 100,000 police officers. The vote doesn't authorize any funding but affirms the Senate's support for including the money in the budget.
