UK to double number of drones in Afghanistan

"The UK is to double the number of armed RAF 'drones' flying combat and surveillance operations in Afghanistan and, for the first time, the aircraft will be controlled from terminals and screens in Britain. Pilots based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire will fly the recently bought American-made UAVs at a hi-tech hub built on the site in the past 18 months. The most recent figures from the Ministry of Defence show that, by the end of September, the UK’s five Reapers in Afghanistan had flown 39,628 hours and fired 334 laser-guided Hellfire missiles and bombs at suspected insurgents." Romney on drones: ‘Use any and all means necessary to take out’ enemies

"I believe we should use any and all means necessary to take out people who pose a threat to us and our friends around the world. And it’s widely reported that drones are being used in drone strikes, and I support that and entirely, and feel the president was right to up the usage of that technology, and believe that we should continue to use it, to continue to go after the people that represent a threat to this nation and to our friends.” Continue reading

Crew Demonstrates Technology Aimed To Pinpoint Terrorists At Large Events

"This technology has been used in the military but is now available here at home. Tulsa police sniper Perry Lewis was perched on top of the Case Center at the south end of TU's Chapman Stadium. The sensors triangulate and almost immediately, a dot appears on the screen to show where Perry is and the information could pop up on every officer's smartphone and pad in the stadium, so they know where to go. If cameras are hooked up, they could get a picture of the sniper, beam it through satellite to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and if he's in the system, police have the guy's name and an address within minutes." Family orchard ransacked by hungry mobs after owners generously offer undersized peach crop free to public

"A Colorado fruit orchard was ransacked by locals recently after its generous owners decided to open up their private peach grove to the public for a free picking. Don and Marilyn Schanaman were horrified to learn that their benevolent efforts to salvage an undersized peach crop resulted in what can only be described as utter savagery by the lowest members of society, who saw fit to harass the family and even damage their property after the peaches had all been picked."
