Minnesota Senate Bill Would Add “Shall Not Be Infringed” to State Constitution

A bill introduced in the Minnesota Senate would put a constitutional amendment on the ballot to add language protecting the right to keep and bear arms in the state constitution. The enactment of the amendment would create a pathway to further limit the enforcement of gun control in Minnesota and could potentially foster and environment more hostile to federal gun control

Supreme Court Upholds Bump Stock Ban. Again.

In the bump stick case, the plaintiffs demonstrate what not to do; surrender their bump stocks and then sue after the fact. They should have refused to turn them in to anyone and fought for legislation prohibiting local law enforcement from actively assisting any federal authorities on the matter.

Signed by the Governor: New Hampshire Law with Big Loophole to Address Federal Gun Control

This language would have created a strong prohibition against state or local enforcement of federal gun control. But an amendment created a loophole that will, in its best reading, significantly narrow the practical effect of the law.

Now in Effect: South Carolina Legalizes Open Carry for CCDW Permit Holders

Today, a law went into effect allowing all South Carolina concealed weapon permit holders to open carry firearms. The law also includes provisions to review and prohibit state enforcement of federal laws that limit carrying firearms.
