Atlanta: Anti-Police Rebellion, Rocks And Bricks Thrown At Police Cars

"Today, April 9th 2013, there was a riot in Edgewood, a neighborhood northeast of downtown Atlanta. Around fifty people gathered for a 'March Against the Police' with drums, banners, and a desire for vengeance at the playground in Edgewood Courts, an apartment complex in the back of the neighborhood. Edgewood Courts contains some of the few remaining low income housing units in Atlanta. Yesterday, the police pepper sprayed a group of kids and beat and arrested a man grieving over his lost father. All in all the police were forced to retreat 4 times — leaving the neighborhood completely. The crowd of people never backed down." Continue reading →

Mexican vigilantes seize town, arrest police

"Hundreds of armed vigilantes have taken control of a town on a major highway in the Pacific coast state of Guerrero, arresting local police officers and searching homes after a vigilante leader was killed. Members of the area's self-described 'community police' say more than 1,500 members of the force were stopping traffic Wednesday at improvised checkpoints in the town of Tierra Colorado, which sits on the highway connecting Mexico City to Acapulco. They arrested 12 police and the former director of public security in the town after a leader of the state's vigilante movement was slain on Monday." Continue reading →

"Hawley, Massachusetts. A small little town in a rural New England area west of the Berkshires. A recent article run by the Associated Press stated that: 'Select Board member Tedd White resigned Thursday, the fourth official in the town of about 330 residents to step down since a March 12 special election to replace a selectman who died in office. White said in his resignation letter he would rather ‘pound my thumbs with a hammer’ than attend ‘crooked, rigged’ board meetings. New Poll Finds 86 Percent Of Americans Don’t Want To Have A Country Anymore [2006]

"Among the 86 percent of poll respondents who were in favor of discontinuing the nation, the most frequently cited reasons were a lack of significant results from the current democratic process (36 percent), dissatisfaction with customer service (28 percent), and exhaustion (22 percent). Of those who were against maintaining an American nation, 77 percent said they believe that having a country is 'counter to the best interests of Americans.' Poll shows huge support for Rand Paul’s filibuster stance on drone attacks

"When Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) filibustered for nearly 13 hours two weeks ago, he had the American people on his side. A new Gallup poll shows a huge majority of Americans — 79 percent — supported Paul’s position that drone strikes should not be used on American soil against Americans suspected of terrorism. Just 13 percent say it would be okay. Americans also don’t support drone strikes against any suspected terrorist on American soil (25 percent support, 66 percent oppose) or against U.S. citizens suspected of terrorism abroad (41 percent support, 52 percent support)."
